I'll try again....
Posted earlier this morning but for some reason it didn't go...so I'm trying again!
Just got back from my walk so I'm in the process of cooling down. It's only 7:00 am and it's already 70 deg. :hot: We are supposed to be well into the 90's today with a lot of humidity. Nikki, I think that storm you had is coming our way sometime later today. It's supposed to cooler tomorrow, in the 70's-80's. Our air conditioners are humming. ANNE, I am so sorry for your loss. What a terrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. nikki, what luck having the roof done before the storm came through. MEN!!! Sometimes I wonder about them. DH is like that too, where he can see something is "off" when I think it looks just fine. I have been in the Prevention site looking at the SB diet boards and came across the recipes for Phase I & II. Sizizing only lasted 1 day for me. I wanted some fruit for a snack mid morning, and I had to calculate when to have it. I had forgotten how much was involved with Somersizing, but it came back really quick. I like the fact that SB diet is high in good fats and good carbs so that you get more of a balance. How long do you plan on staying on Phase I? I'm going to try it for 2 weeks and see how it goes. I am almost tempted to start with Phase II because of all the years I've been doing low carbing, my sugar/carb cravings are gone. When I was on WW, eating all those carbs made me feel BLAH :p Cheryl, where are you? I hope everything is ok. Have a good day. Aleka |
Hi,
The weather is perfect here today, cool, no humidity, love it. I have too many things to do and can't seem to get anything done, so thought I'd sit and have some coffee and write to you guys. Anne, still thinking of you and your family. Aleka, I think I'll do the 2 weeks for sure and maybe even longer of phase 1. I've read on their boards when people start on phase 2, they see some weight gain or decreased weight loss. Maybe from adding too many carbs back at once. I am definitely ready to start losing some more weight. Let myself go when DH was on vacation, havent' gained any weight but haven't lost either and I feel like I'm getting too comfortable in these size 18w/1x clothes. Everyone that see's me that haven't seen me since I've lost weight, says things like- oh you look so good. That just makes me think I don't really need to lose anymore or try anymore. Then last week, I don't think I told you guys about this, I had a moment like Anne did last winter on the bus. I was getting out of our car at the campground and the guy next to us said "How would you like to cuddle up with that next to the fire?" Well, I'm not exactly a beauty queen, but the women running around their camper weren't either. I wasn't upset about it, but I was surprised. I feel so good about myself anymore, I'm wearing makeup, fixing my hair, wearing nice clothes that aren't ripped or stained (like I use to when I was way over weight). I'm not trying to please anyone but me, but that was kind of a wake up call not to get lazy and forget my goal. I'm 100% better than this time last year and I want to be 100% better this time next year. By the way, that was one of those really rude, loud people. I didn't think he was exactly Brad Pitt either. Well, got to run, Nikki |
Hi there!
It has been another hot & humid day. I think those storms are headed our way and it's supposed to be much more pleasant tomorrow.
nikki, could that guy have made that comment in a positive manner? I'm glad that you didn't let that insenstive idiot bother you. You should feel good about yourself, you have come a long way. I am starting SB diet on Monday. DH & I have cleaned out our cereal, fruit, milk, and we're working on our ice cream. Our breakfast this morning was a SB breakfast. We're eating up our bacon also, so I made bacon & eggs and nuked some frozen cauliflower and put some grated low fat cheese on it. It was really very good. Have you read any posts from anybody who has started with Phase II instead of Phase I and lost weight? I was wondering about that. ANNE, hope everything is going ok with you. I'm thinking about you. Hey Cheryl, where have ya been? Hope everything is ok with you. Hang in there! Have a great weekend everyone. :balloons: Aleka |
Nikkic:
I would like to kick his ***. (excuse my language) What kills me is that ones that come out with the ignoramous remarks usually look like a pile of :censored: :faint: Sorry guys, I'm really stressed out:stress: everything makes me want to explode:bomb: We will be going to the funeral parlor Saturday. I have been in tears all day long. I really wish I didn't have to go. Its too too hard:cry: I hope God gives me the courage to get through it. The funeral will be on Monday at 10:am. I am in such a rotten mood no one wants to be around me. Aleka, the weather here is hot and sunny. Too hot. I am going to go and try to find a video to watch tonight to try and take my mind of my misery. One thing about all of this, I am not hardly able to eat so I won't have to worry about gaining any weight. Talk to you later..... Anne. |
Hi,
Anne, on Monday at 10am, I'll probably be in my my garden, on my knees, picking beans. I'll make sure to look up and say a prayer for you and your family. Will be with you in spirit and wish this had not happened to your loved one. You don't need to apologize for how your feeling, I'm glad you feel like you can say whatever you want here, that's the way it is with friends. I think over the last year, we've all become friends and I just wish we lived closer so we could see each other too. I appreciate the *** kicking thought. I'm sure he didn't mean it in a nice or complimentary way, Aleka. I realized last night after posting that, that if the emphasize was placed differently, it could have a completely different meaning. And your right Anne, he was not very attractive (toothless, greasy longer hair, prison tatoos all over his back/chest). Anyway, I'm rather glad I'm not his type. Aleka, I'm going to try to start the SBD tomorrow. I've shopped and have everything I need to start. Just got the book today and have gotten through a couple of chapters. I've read on the SBD forums that there are several people that continue to lose weight on phase two, but they say if you add too many carbs back at once you will not lose as fast. I think the lack of portion size may be a problem for some people. When they say to eat till your full, some people, including me, can eat way too fast and way too much. Like all diets, it comes down to how many calories are you eating compared to burning or storing. I took DD out to the campground and we spent the night. We had Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and milk for breakfast. I figured it was the last time for awhile. Boy, those are the best doughnuts. Went to a town that is close to ours, it's mainly a tourist trap, lots of little shops with expensive things. Just window shopped, then went to another town and had lunch. It was a beautiful day, little humidity and low 80's. I hope you guys get this weather, it's much better. Talk to you tomorrow, take care, Nikki |
Ahhh, cooler temps!
The cold front came through last night...thankfully with no storms.
ANNE, please don't be sorry for anything you say to us. I agree with nikki, in that we have all become such good friends and that being such good friends, we should be able to say whatever we feel like saying. I also wish we lived nearer each other so we could get together. I will think of you Mon. at 10:00 and say a prayer. :grouphug: nikki, that insensitive jerk sounds like a real winner! More importantly, would YOU like to cuddle up with that around a campfire?? :p Did you buy the part-skim Ricotta cheese to make that dessert in Phase I? I made it a while back when I first got the SB diet book. It is sooooo good!!!:T :T I liked it too much. I don't know if I will make it again because I'm afraid I'll pig out on it. Maybe as a treat on the weekends. I finished up the ice cream last night, and there really isn't much left that DH can't finish up on his own. I wish us both luck on Phase I. I figured that I can use a lot of Suzanne's recipes on this WOE, just make them lower in fat. Used the SS grill the other night. It really works very well. It was such a breeze cleaning it. Hope you both have a good weekend. Aleka |
HI,
Anne, I know this is going to be a difficult few days to get through for you. I find keeping busy with everyday tasks helps me to stay centered (for lack of a better word). Doing daily routines kind of redirects your mind for a little while and helps to keep on going during times like these. Aleka, I bought the part skim ricotta and thanks for the warning. I'll make sure to watch out and not eat it all at once. I do love somethings way too much too, cream for one, I could drink it all the time. I had my breakfast, 2 eggs over easy with a slice of canadian bacon and green tea-Arizona diet green tea, no calories, but does have caffiene. I'm trying to drink more green tea, it's suppose to be so good for you and I was drinking a pot or more of coffee a day. Had to force myself to eat, I have a lot to do and it's time consuming, plus I'm never hungry in the morning. I am going to try to follow their plan as close as possible and eat 3 times a day with a few snacks. We still have ice cream, but I'm not a big lover of it. DH is and will eat it everyday. I'm more of a popcorn person, I like the salty crunchy stuff. It's still cool here, but very humid-90%. In a few days it will be in the 90's with over 90% humidity, so I'm going to spend the day in the yard to try to get as much done as possible out there. The gardens are looking like jungles now, have to get some things picked and somethings staked. Take care, Nikki |
Nikki,
I've been into a few links for the SB diet. One link has a grocery list for Phase I and one for Phases I & II. Here it is.pub46.************/brecipeexchange11667 Just scroll down and there is a section for the SB diet.

Thanks Aleka, that place is full of interesting things. My printer is no more. I don't know what to do about this problem. I tried to reconnect it to a new port, the old port was fried, and now when I try to reinstall the program, it says something is wrong with the instructions or something. I'm not sure if I should get a new printer or try to have this one fixed, the computer fixed or what. I've contacted Lexmark and Gateway and have gotten no where, even with the extended service plan I bought. We have one place in town that is suppose to repair computers and I have no idea if they are people I can trust or would want to give my computer to.
I don't even have this one paid off yet. So, I've just not been able to print and that is a problem with recipes. Later, the same day..... I looked around at their vertual store and was wondering if anyone has tried Atkins breads for the bread machine? I saw our local store is carrying some of them and I think I'll use them for the phase 2, instead of regular bread. Oh, rats, I gave my machine away to Goodwill. Well, you can bake it too. Wish I could give you guys some green beans, I've got more than I can use. I've been freezing them everyday and only 3 of my rows are producing right now. I planted 5 rows more that were later, so I'll really have enough of them. Reminds me of when I was a kid, mom always had them for supper. I use to hate them, now I see why we had them all the time. |
Hi guys!
I've started a new thread. See ya there! Aleka |
