I have a confession to make...
Hey Girls,
Okay, I know us low-carb chickies aren't supposed to have bread of any sort during induction. But, I can't give up Nature's Own Reduced Carbohydrate Wheat Bread. It's got 7 carbs a slice and 2 grams of fiber. It is made with whole wheat flour and tons of soy & wheat protein. Do ya'll have any suggestions about this? Is it okay if I limit myself to two slices a day? I mean, before I started this diet, I was eating four slices of regular wheat bread a day and not gaining any weight. So this is an improvement, right? What do you think chickies?? :?: Thanks |
how much protein [besides TONS?]? i've found that if there is at least twice as much protein as carbs, it's generally OK to eat, but you still have to watch your carb count.

Protein Info
Hey Jiff,
The bread has 6 grams of protein per slice. So let's see. 7 grams of carbs minus the two fiber grams equals five net carbs. So 5 grams of carbs and six grams of protein. WOOO HOOOO! This sounds good. |
am on day 1 of Atkins...sure do wish that bread was available in Canada!!! :T Can't even find any atkins products in this godforsaken land!

I think you can find some Atkins products at health food stores in Canada--but terribly over priced and not a good selection! I know some chicks buy stuff on the web....

I just received the new Atkins catalogue, and the low carb bread is 9.99 for 2 loaves.........5 bucks a loaf???!!!! I dont miss it that much :D
