jen~ you're my hero!!!! : )
i was up to that many d/cokes myself. i go for about 4-5 daily now, although i only had one yesterday and no headache. but there's nuttin like a cold d/coke on a hot summer day.............. mmmmmmmmmmmm..........................diet coke. i weighed in this am- stayed the same- now to all of you that havent read all my messages, i havent been true to sbd. i have had a couple of rough weeks with other stuff, so to maintain my first weeks loss was a huge accomplishement for me. not poor sandy, cause i take full responsibility, but its ok to have a bad day. i just had a bad couple of weeks, oh well. at least no gain. i will say, i was bloaty cause my waist measured and inch bigger, so the water is sooooooooooooo important, otherwise your body must store it like a camel. well, i get to do a real grocery shop today, and have already started my water, so i'm proud to say i'm back in the saddle, so to speak. talk w/y'all soon. |
Yikes, I can't imagine drinking that much Coke. I really don't like soft drinks but especially colas. Something about the way they fizz up the back of my nose and make me burp. I'm still struggling to get 80 oz of plain water into me every day. Not doing too well today. I manage to get by on just two cups of half-decaff each morning and occasionally I'll have a cup of tea in the afternoon but if I drink to many other liquids, I just can't manage all the water.
Yesterday I made that Ricotta-Jello dessert somebody posted. Who was that? Anyhow, thanks, it's quite good and filling. More filling than plain diet jello. If you're not into all the fuss of making a salad every day, here's what I do. I chop up a whole head of raw cauliflower, a few green onions. a couple of red and/or green bell peppers, cucumber or raw zucchini, seeded tomato and celery (or any combination of raw low carb veggies that you like. I mix them all together in a Tupperware container and keep it in the fridge. Then I mix up a small jar with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper and grainy Dijon mustard and just a dash of sweetener. Don't refrigerate this, though, as the oil thickens up. Then I just scoop out a cupful of this crunchy salad and add some dressing and there's my salad. Today I had it with leftover cooked chicken breast and some sliced water chestnuts were added in as well. Very easy and filling. |
Ha ha Sandy -- I'm getting thirsty just *thinking* about it. Congratulations on not gaining -- that is a victory in and of itself.
I have set my quitting smoking date for May 24. I am scared to death. I have to stay on plan because I want so badly to weigh under 140 when I quit. So, I have to stay at 2lbs per week to be on track. Then it really gets tough! Think I'll go have a diet coke and think about it. Ha ha. Jen |
