  • To have a friend is to have
    one of the sweetest gifts
that life can bring; to be a
friend is to have a solemn
    and tender education of
    soul from day to day.

Good morning lovely chicks, it is 5:37am, -9, and 2 in. of new snow is down. I must hurry as it is almost time to go.

You all have a great day and be good.
    Love Tazcat.
  • Sleeping late, everyone? I had NO sleep last night, eyes are swollen and look like I've been run over by a truck. You would think I would take a personal day, but not ME, I have too much work to do. Anyway, hope you're all having a lovely morning.

Selling the old clunker today (YAY!!) so I'll have some unexpected cash. I was going to put it away for the next chick meet, but I think I may splurge a little and buy some new clothes, just a couple things to brighten up the old wardrobe. It will be devine to have pants that actually FIT!

Talk to ya'll later, have a terrific day!
  • Not a sleepyhead here - my ISP was down! I am up 5 ish these mornings. Of course, I'm usually asleep by 10 so that's 7 hours of sleep. (I did watch the "HOT" program last night until 9:30. What a bunch of crap!)

Gorgeous sunny day that almost feels like Spring! However the temp is 0F out there so the Girls hustled their furry buns indoors fast after potty. I am supervising their mealtimes so Hershey doesn't take Lucy's food. It's a pleasant time - I sit at the sunny kitchen table and sip coffee while I read and keep an eye on them. Sigh! Life is good.

Tell me I'm OCD! Yesterday morning I decided to finish the damned wallpaper scraping and did the painted paper wall! I went for my perm after lunch, picked up some wall transfers and took back the border. DH freaked when he saw the paint bill but he'll get over it. I look at it as Air Miles! Today I MAY patch plaster or just take the day off. Was supposed to work in the greenhouse but the plants did not come in! My friend Claire got a new dog from the SPCA so I may pay a visit to her house to see "Charlie".

But first a bubble bath with another coffee and the new Lee Valley Tools catalogue. The temp is supposed to go up on Sunday
to well above freezing so the spring melt will start. I need to get ready and nothing inspires me like a new garden gadget!

    Think SPRING!
  • Oh you early birds!!! I think 7:00 AM is early!!!

Well, I got my perm yesterday, and I must say I feel much better. Now if I could just get my eating under control...

Sherry, my "chick meet " money is sitting in a special account in the credit union. I know if I dip into it, it will be hard justifying the expense when the time comes. I have a problem spend much money on "me" things. It's always been this way and I don't understand why. Any psych majors out there to explain it to me?

I also have 500.00 worth of gift certificates that I was going to use for new clothes to wear to the chick meet, but maybe in that department it's a good thing the meet was postponed. I was going to buy smaller clothes, and that hasn't worked out. If I bought smaller clothes, they would get to sit in the closet with the rest of my "smaller clothes"

Anyway today is a new day and a new challenge to stay OP. Can I do it a full day? Anyone want to place bets? Who wants to hold the money? YES!!! I can do it, and I will do it. One day at a time. Right?
  • Good Morning everyone!

I am very tired and lots of work to do today--give me COFFEE!! Today is policy revies, tons of email to go winging theirway to everyone, last minute grocery shop, talk to my mother (it's her birthday today), pay a visit to the doctor (strange cramping that's been going on for 10 days and you know that can't be good), pick up M at daycare and spend the rest of the day cleaning. Whew!

Hope you all have a great day!

Ruth, I hope you're taking good care of your wrists while you're doing that! And my dh got the lee valley tools catalogue yesterday too. Did I tell you I once worked there?

Barb, if I had chick meet money to save I would but unfortunately my inlaws are coming and I have to spend every dime on them...sigh....

Sherrie, enjoy your windfall! I'm thinking a trip to the bridal show room to do a little dress planning??

Taz, have a great day at work!
  • Afternoon Ladies--
Well, I got up and took Tori to the mall today--had the scare of my life!!!!!!! They have a small indoor play area there, and I was sitting on the bench and tori was going down a little slide, and then SCREAM! and Tori came running over to me crying--sobbing-she fell of the slide on her back-then she said she could not breathe-she had this awful look on her face-she was saying she could not breathe--I was so scared--I have never seen her look like that-she turned pale and could not take a deep breath--well thankfully she calmed down and she said her whole back ached--then a few minutes later she was fine--I thing she got the wind knocked out of her--boy--that was something I never want to go through again!!!

Well after that little episode--i ate a BIG lunch at taco Bell and a Snickers Bar--stress eating anyone???

Well, I gotta go lay down--between my nerves and this cold.......
have fun Tammyfancy on your trip~! and Welcome Kteach!

  • I was up at 6 as usual. My routine is to put the coffee on, pack Peter a sandwich and then sit in my big recliner chair until I hear the coffee finish. When I'm smart, I set the stove timer too so I don't go too deeply into dreamland. This morning I had a battle royal with myself but finally convinced lazy me to go to the pool. It sure helps knowing that a friend is going because you're going. A mutual support system.
I'm glad to hear that temps are rising in the east at last. We are having high winds and heavy rains and it looks like it could last a while. Of course, our heavy rain on the coast means heavy snow and lots of avalanches in the mountains of B.C. Already several highways are closed due to snowslides.
A while ago I went through my veggie crisper and chopped up a large container of raw cauliflower, red and green peppers, green onions, cucumber and tomato. I also made a nicely seasoned dressing to keep in the fridge. The plan is to nibble on bowls of that mixture when I get the munchies. Wish me luck sticking to that plan.
    Have a nice Friday, Chicks.
  • Linda, I'm coming up. That salad sounds DElicious!! Save some for me, huh?

It's been one of those days at work. We sold $25,000 this week, and the killer is, $20,000 was sold today! People were 3 feet deep in the lobby all day, the phone was ringing off the hook, and I was busy as a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. But, I got this killer headache and spent the day in a fog, so the good news is I really don't remember much of it! Now I can have a great weekend!

Trying to decide between hamburger and sausage for dinner, guess if I don't go cook it, we'll starve. Talk to ya'll later!
  • Hey everybody! Having major 3FC withdrawals---phone number got slammed yesterday, and didn't have phone service until early this afternoon. Some phone company in Shreveport, LA decided to switch us from Bell South to their company without our knowledge. Not very nice of them, but I'm glad I caught it early and got it figured out. Now I just need to contact the Better Business Bureau and report them. Just a tip: make sure you have a "slam block" on your phone accounts.

Going for a short overnight trip in the morning to Wilmington, NC. There is a battleship docked there that my husband and oldest son would like to see, while our younger son and I will be enjoying the pool at the Holiday Inn!!! I'm not very excited about getting into my suit, but I found a cute one last year that doesn't look too bad. And frankly, my dears, I don't give a damn. hehe. I don't know anyone in Wilmington.
I wish all of you a wonderful weekend. I hope the low-carb fairies come to us in the night and rid us of our cravings for off-program foods. Wouldn't that be a miracle?

Speaking of miracles-----isn't it wonderful about Elizabeth Smart in Utah being found alive!
