starting over again, anyone else?

Well 2 years ago I was on sugar busters and Atkins combined. I lost 30 pounds in 3 months. Felt great. Then it gets Christmas time. Oh did I pig on anything with sugar and carbs. Pretty sonn the 30 pounds was back, plus more crept on through the months.
I have tried eveything else since then lose a few gain a few. I am ready to start induction tomorrow. Went out and got the groceries. Have a great attitude. I'm ready.
I need to lose more than 30, but anything will help.
Anyone just started or going to start to help each other along?
Check in later.

Congratulations on coming back!

I am sure you will be just fine! I started 7 weeks ago and so far lost 10 pounds. I am a slow loser, but I am determined! Keep posting. This is a great group!

I'm with ya! I will probably start on Thursday, as I just decided today to begin low carb AGAIN. It does work, as it sounds like you know. I will have to make a shopping list tomorrow (at work!) and go to the supermarket tomorrow evening. I need the support too.

I look forward to getting to know you!

Congratulations on making the decision to get back on the merry go round. All kidding aside I've been doing lowcarb on and off since about 1980. This last December I decided that I was thru fooling around. Induction is rough just make sure you drink plenty of water and take your supplements(it really helps). After induction is over it will get easier, There are many LC recipes out there for your favorite foods from pizza to lasagne. Just hang in there and you will do just fine. Judy

:( I just started on Sunday, and was sooo proud of myself for not cheating, until I glanced at the food label on the HAM I went to town on yesterday. Carbs galore. What was I thinking??!!!??? Ham??? I've still lost 6 pounds, but what COULD I have lost without eating that? It was good, too.;)
Anyway, I won't be discouraged, it wasn't an intentional cheat.
Good luck to everyone, its good to be able to come here and "visit" with people who are in the same boat as me! Thanks!

Anyone else have trouble gagging down that last glass of water? ugh.

Gina, thank you for the encouragement. Any little bit helps. Keep up the determination.
Beacon, cool someone to go through the two weeks with. That will be great, I haven't had anyone do this with me before. We'll have to keep in touch. Don't forget to buy the pork rinds. That's one of my favorite things on this woe. It's kinda like a chip.
Judy, Thank you for your encouragement and info. I drink about a gallon of water everyday, dieting or not. I love water. I also have vitaman supplements to take. I have that on my priority list. I should take them every day anyway. I also have many recipes for low carb. I am an internet junkie on recipes, I don't know if I have the pizza one or not, I'll have to check. Your info would be welcome.
Nettie, congrats on the 6 lbs. that is great. I have been on induction a few times and usually lose 9 to 10 lbs. Ham also has sugar in it, some are alot better than others, I live in a small town and our grocery store has a butcher shop, so I ask him to look at the packages on the deli meat for me. You could be surprised.
Well everyone my start weight this morning
210
1st goal is 199
want to get out of the 200s.
I stayed at 170 for many years, 2 years ago I started gaining weight, 40 lbs to be exact. Not really doing anything different.
Well I was researching a prescription drug I am taking and one of the side effects is unexplained weight gain. It was 2 years ago when I started on it. My doc still wants me on it, he says I have satyed the same for many months now, so I should be used to it and not gain anymore from it. Now it's up to me...
So far so good today. Talk to ya all later

I am back on low carb... (atkins induction with two extra cups of vegs)
I am on day 2, lost 5 lbs on day one.. wouldn't that be cool....5 lbs a day every day!!!
Anyway... I know it won't go that fast. I lose fast on this diet, the challange for me has been boredom. But I am determined to lose it, and get a new attitude. I think my self defeating behaviors are finally dissolving.
Quitting smoking two years ago lt didn't cause me to gain weight. All the stress eating did!.. instead of lighting up I was filling up. Trying to get a handle on that.

First goal 199
Final goal 150

HI everyone, I started Atkins about 7 weeks ago and have lost 14 pounds. I am excited! The great thing for me is my husband is also (trying) doing it and it makes it so much easier. He has lost about 15 pounds!
I am 36 years old and way too out of shape. I still have about 15 pounds to lose to be happy. I would be just thrilled to lose 25 more. Started at 178.
I have found some absolutely wonderful recipes on the recipe thread. I have been checking out the various threads for a long time but have never written anything.
This website has done wonders for me being able to stay on the diet. The more i read and hear other stories, the more incentive i have to stay on my diet. Exercising is one thing I do need to do. I tend to come home from a long day at work and just relax. (No kids. But want one!
Good luck everyone on your goals!

welcome lost and spaced and sunbird.lost that 5 pounds is great, I usually lose 10 in the first 2 weeks, then it slows down, but it still goes down on atkins. I don't know why I waited so darn long to try this again, I have been on everything, I started weight watchers online a couple of months ago, there are too many choices and it is too easy to cheat.(for me anyway). It seems the not having sugars makes me not crave them so bad. Well the first day has gone great.
sunbird, you are doing great, it also has to be easier having the husband on also. Mine could afford to lose about 40 lbs, he went on the WW with me, it only lasted a couple of days for him, he is a sweet and meat man and potaoes and bread, he could never do atikins. He loves meat but everything else too. I have been lurking off and on here and listening to some very insiring stories. It can be done, support is great, I decided to start this thread because I couln't find anything that applied to me really.
Have started doing the walking tape with the band thing. Started out last week with one mile 4 days. This week I have done one mile 2 days then today did 2 miles. I sure can tell it makes me feel better. I just have to think of it as a thing I have to do everyday, like take a shower, cook, clean go to work etc. I have a great attitude this time. It makes me feel good to see you all are having great results. Lets hope it continues for all of us. Talk to you later
