Hi everyone,
It is getting warmer here, up to 27 today they say and into the 40's by the weekend. We had some freezing rain yesterday, but thank God for moisture. The kitty is starting to play. She has not really done this since she came here. It just makes us both happy to see it. She is starting to fend for herself against the old female. So far, she has no wounds from fighting, so it is all bluff, which is what females usually do. It's the males that fight and draw blood the most. Tomorrow we go to the vet. We're hoping this doesn't cost a lot. DH has really gotten attached to her and that makes the old female cat even more jealous. She just loves DH. Anne, I am so sorry about your husband. I know how miserable people are with the shingles and it seems to go on for a long time. The problem with:devil: doesn't sound like a pleasant one. People that are hung over are hard to deal with as are people that are thirsty for another drink. Sounds like she would fall into both categories most of the time. Being that she is not a nice person, she probably can't stand herself either. I think this has a lot to do with why most people drink. Take care, Nikki |
Hi Everyone!
Aleka, I don't think she is afraid of losing her job, she is just a hard nosed manager. She is from Dublin but has lived in Toronto for the last 30 years. She has an impressive portfolio though. Very intelligent just rude as heck. People that know her better than me say socially she's lots of fun, workwise, forget it. She makes no bones that she likes going to pubs and drinking beer etc. I think its a lifestyle choice in her case. The weather in Toronto has greatly improved and I am every so grateful for that. Nikkic, your surgery is pretty soon now right? I am glad your kitty is doing well. I love animals. Anne. |
Quickly today, I will check back tonight, I stayed the same at TOPS last night. That is a good thing LOL.
Glad kitty is doing better, hope our people can as well. Love you all, take that slice of the day and enjoy it, Tazcat |
Hi everyone,
It's one of those days ahead of me with too much to do and not enough ambition to do anything but drink some coffee. In fact, getting the coffee seems hard this morning. :) Anne, the surgery is the 19th. When I first found out, I was determined to lose another 10 lbs before it happened. So far, in the last 2 weeks, I keep losing and gaining the same pound. I have to do better. I did order a new pair of pants from the shopping channel. My size 24's were getting big, so I ordered a 22. It came yesterday and they were way too big too. My daughter told me I looked like I needed an 18. So that was what I ordered to replace the 22's. I haven't seen a size below 20 in 10 years. I sure would love to be a 16 this spring. Even if all I lost in the next year was 1 lb a week, that would be enough to meet my goal for the year. I'm not going to limit myself to that, because if I do, I'll start to eat whatever I want (like I have the last 2 weeks), but I feel less anxious now about losing weight when the goal is closer and not such an elusive figure. When your talking about over 100 lbs. like when I started, it seems like it's unattainable. I would still like to lose 70 more lbs. total, but I'll take 50 and be happy. Well, got to go exercise and get going on this day. Later, Nikki |
Hello everyone!
nikki, that's a good attitude about losing weight. Even if you don't lose 70 lb., losing 50 is still awesome! That's fantastic ordering pants 3 sizes smaller!:bravo: Keep it up! Good luck at the Vets today with your kitty.
tazcat, that's good you stayed the same:cp: Congratulations! ANNE, I hope that things work out with your boss. Maybe she has to be out drinking to be any fun. How is your Dad doing? Enjoy your day everyone :balloons: Aleka |
Hi Everyone:
Aleka: My dad went to see the doctor yesterday and they have ordered a battery of tests for him. The doctor said "Mr. Laxton you are a phenomenon" He could not believe my dad has been alive 15 years and this is his fifth lung cancer. Would you believe if his tests come back clear they are talking surgery again!!:faint: :fr: He goes on Saturday to have a bone scan then next week an MRI, bronchoscopy & body scan. He sees this doctor again after he gets his test results on Feb 19/03. We really don't want dad to have more surgery. These operations were horrible, he was in ICU on a respirator the last three times. :stress: I think at 71 enough. The doctor did say if there is no spreadage radiation could cure a cancer that is so small. I would go that route. Nikkic, what a great story about your pants. Good for you.:flow1: Talk to you all later. Anne. |
Just a quick one this morning,
A note to say how much better my life is with out the pop ups. I don't know about you chicks but I was getting a pop up every time I went to a new thread, Sometimes as many as six would be there. Any wayyyyy, TGIF, Thank God I'm Female:lol: Will chat later, getting ready for the storm comming this way, freezing rain and rain, that will be a mess. WHO HAS THE MISSING POWER BALL, IT IS WORTH 50 MILLION! You only have six more weeks to clame it. Love Tazcat |
Good morning..it's Friday!!
I'm off to Mass. tomorrow to visit my GF and do lunch. We'll be leaving for Florida in a few weeks and want to see her before we go. Can't wait to get out of this cold weather!
ANNE, why would they want to do surgery if his tests come back clear? :?: Especially since he has such a rough time after his surgeries. I wish your Dad good luck on his bone scan Sat. nikki, how did the kitty make out at the Vet? Hope everything turned out ok. tazcat, I think we're supposed to get the same storm as you. I don't know what we're getting here though, possibly the same as you, but the word "snow" was mentioned. Take care everyone and have a great weekend :balloons: Aleka |
Hi everyone,
Anne, I agree. If the cancer hasn't spread, I would just do the radiation. Your dad will already be so exhausted from the tests. I don't think the Drs. always consider what a person is going through (how hard it is and just doing it) when they order all this stuff. More than anything, his quality of life should be the most important thing at this point. Aleka, have a good time in Mass. Sounds like fun. Tazcat, I personally hate freezing rain. It's raining here today, so far, it's been warm enough not to freeze. I had wonderful news today. I had my taxes done and we are getting back some from federal and only have to pay the state $286. I've been worried something aweful about it. They pretty much let you decided what you want withheld when your on disability retirement. I just pulled a number out of the air and then was afraid we'd be paying several thousand $ with interest too now. Guess we'll be ok. Didn't have any idea where I'd come up with $$$. This will pay our property taxes and our state taxes, so I'm really relieved. We've been flooded with unexpected bills this last week, and I've been beside myself about it. Oh, the kitty is fine. The vet said her tummy is big because she's gasy. Her vomiting is probably due to the worm medicine I gave her last week. She doesn't have a cold. She's going back in 2 weeks to be spayed. She's a funny little girl, very shy and doesn't push herself on people, but she loves attention. I think she must have been abused. She won't come when called, avoids eye contact and doesn't relax when your holding her for quite awhile. But she is very sweet and seems to purr a lot. |
It's a new week, so I'm starting a new thread, see you all there!
