Let's make Plans for "NJ In May"

Now that Christmas is behind us let's start looking ahead...to May. I informed ole Alvin this morning that I am goint to NJ in May, and he is welcome to come if he want's. or not. Anyway he started asking questions I couldn't answer, but probally need to know. questions like Where inNJ??? when in May??? for how long??? Details, details, details, is it a man thing? or just my man?

Anyway I decided to see what I could find out about the details.

What I didn't need to find out about are my PLANS...
#1) I am having a challange with myself to loose as much of this weight as possible by the time we all meet in NJ.
#2) I got gift cetificates for Christmas for the outlet mall about an hour away, and I'm saving them until May so I can have a new smaller size wardrobe for the trip.
#3) I'm going to bore all of you with my progress!!!

Dose anyone else have any plans for "NJ in May"? Would you like to share them?

I thought it would be fun to see if we can keep this thread going until then and all report on the progress of our plan for the BIG CHICK MEET. Any interest?

Hmm, I wanna go, but it will depend on when in May. I will be in WV during part of May for my Grandparents 50th wedding party. Can't skip that and go to NJ instead, I suppose. Although I'd rather be with the chickies that say, "Look how much you've lost" instead of relatives that will say "Oh my God, when did you get so fat?" LOL It's a shame you can't choose your family the way you can choose your friends.

All I know is that when ever you guys meet, you better let me know. May sounds wonderful. I'm not on the carb board all the time so PLEASE keep me posted.

Huggs !!!

Excuse me, Leens, but who the heck are you?
Of course, we'll keep you posted, Sillykins!

Give plenty of notice and maybe I can plan a work trip to coincide!!!!!

hmmmm. peachie remembers the dates. i don't. all i remember is that it's a friday-sunday thing. and it'll be based in the Wayne-Pequannock area, which is in northern NJ, 25 miles west of NYC [off of route 80 and route 23]. so far, we're planning to spend saturday in nyc, but no details on exactly where/what. several people have expressed interest in seeing GROUND ZERO , rockefeller center, and shopping, but that's a WHOLE LOT of area to cover in one day. but once we get an idea of how many are coming and what the interests are, we'll try to accomodate everyone as far as possible.

the airport of choice for flying in is newark, as it's the closest.

and barb.,.. i'm actually expecting ole alvin to show up. after all, two of us with the WLS will be here.. doesn't he want to meet us???? we wont' bite him!!!

this will indeed be fun, and i gotta tell ya, i'm so flattered that so many of you want to come here!!!!

Methinks we were talking the weekend of May 18th. I agree that's a whole hunk of territory to cover. And speaking of hunks, ole Alvin had better drag his cute butt to NJ!

*with bells on*

Oh, I'll be there, wouldn't MISS it!!!! I do hope it's on or about the weekend of the 18th.. Ackchally, Heather's birthday is on the first weekend of May so any other weekend is good. :)))))

Just checked flight prices. This is when it hurts to live in FL. Great prices to get here, awful to leave. Then again I'm just spoiled because as a travel agent I never paid to fly. Sometimes being cheap sucks. I'm still going to try to get there. Lets see, that's about 140 days, if I give up my 2 diet dews a day, that's 1.09 a day, that would almost pay for the flight. Hmm, pay for the trip or give up caffine. Okay I'll do it. Heck, by then the worst of the caffine withdrawal should be over, you might be able to stand me. LOL

jiffypop 12-27-2002 11:38 PM

dyan... you'd give up caffeine for us????? my goodness!!!! I don't know of ANYONE who would make that sacrifice!!!!

I wish....oh, how I wish....but I just couldn't justify a trip like that when we have a daughter and SIL in Scotland who want us to visit them. So, if we travel at all, it will have to be to Scotland. Sorry, Chicks. I'll be thinking of you though.

jiffypop 12-28-2002 05:09 PM

ummmm. linda... what's wrong with going to scotland with a stopover in the NYC area?

I unfortunately will be in Colorodo watching my brother the new Dr. Smart *** Phd get married. NJ sounds like a whole lot more fun.

Jiff, I don't think I could justify the extra expense with my hubby. Flights from Vancouver to Europe take the polar circle route which saves time and money. Flying to NYC first and then trans-Atlantic would probably cost close to double. Besides, I doubt if he'd want to come to N. Jersey with me and I've told him this time he goes to Scotland with me. I can't have everything. LOL

Sorry it took me so long to get to this! :o

Yep, the weekend of May 18th is correct!

give me two weeks or so to check out the hotel info, ok? The relatives that Jiff and I have been juggling are gone and I am trying to do the clean up, plus I have about 4 dr appointments for the kids and me next week.

Keep that May 18th date open, save your pennies.

Details to follow!
