Low Carb Bread Suggestion

Hello! I usually post over at the Alternachicks threads, but I am a low carb eater with info to share!

I've been low carbing since the summer - have lost about 20 lbs - 80 to go - with my clothes feeling loser than the actual loss would show on the scale. Has that ever happened to you?

Anyway, about a month ago, I decided I was getting burned out on meat on lettuce - so I tried several low carb bread recipes and wasn't crazy about any of them - most turned out as bricks or bouncing balls - is it me or is most LC bread really bouncy?

So anyway, then I started trying the pre-baked breads - not crazy about them either - but in the mail on Friday I received something that can pass the test and I am very picky - Todd's Organic rolls - 1 carb.

I like them because they're more crust than bread - so they're less spongy, more crunchy - if you're the kind of person who always like the crust better than the bread itself - this stuff is great. If you liked the insides of the bread - this may not work for you.

The downside is the shipping - $16 for 6 pkgs :(

I am in no way affiliated with the company - just wanted to share my own situation -

the website is toddsorganicbreads.com

Good Luck! Terri

oh! before I create any confusion.....let me clarify the carb count

1 effective carb is for half a roll -

one roll ( hamburger sized roll) is 140 calories

8 fat grams
8 carb grams
6 fiber grams
30 grams protein

= net 2 carbs

30 protein - served with a burger would probably meet my daily requirement for protein

Thanks, Terri, BUT $16 for shipping! Imagine what it must be to Canada!

I typed the address in and got a dead end, did a google search and it popped up with the very same address. Very strange! This stuff looks yummy! Thanks for the tip.

I copied this from the address bar. Hope it works. http://www.toddsorganicbread.com/store.asp

oh good - glad you found it! The ingredients are listed - it does have a heavy grain taste, but it is the first LC bread I can swallow without feeling ill from the smell or texture

This would be ideal if you had a neighbor who is low carbing so you could split the shipping costs. Otherwise.....hmmm

Side note: that Todd sure is a cutie

PS - what is WLS?

Terri

WLS is Weight Loss Surgery, Terri. Jiff and Debkay have had this done and have to be really careful to get enough protein.
