Protein Bars and Shakes

I have always suspected the bars (especially the Atkins bars, which are delicious) were too good to be true. Once I get back on track to lose, they are going out the window. Until then, I'll let myself indulge a little.

Thanks for sharing that. I know a lot of us had a conversation earlier that the more protein drinks and bars we had the less we lost weight. This kind of confirms our theory. I did buy some but I cut them up in small pieces. I thought if I just have a little piece a day it will help with a chocolate craving and it won't be as bad.

I thought that was really interesting. Lately, I've been making my own protein drink in the morning, so much cheaper than the cans and now, I see why. Anyway, I put a scoop of whey protein, a cup of ice, 8 oz. of water, 4 pkts of splenda and 3/4 cup of strawberries in the blender and blend til it's all crushed up. Comes out like a soft serve from dairy queen and actually tastes good. I have this after my morning workout for a quick breakfast.
Didn't know if it was a good thing or not, but from what I read on that thread, it looks pretty good. Sure beats paying $9 for 4 little cans of Atkins shakes. |
