Morning L! Morning Susan!

I hope you get a bit of a nap today, L!

Sue? Your dh named his belly button? REALLY???? Usually they name....:ziplip:

Did anyone see Tom Arnold on Hannity and Colmes last night? He wrote a book, titled, "How I lost five pounds in six years".

wish I had thought of that!

Although, depending on the month, scale and alignment of the stars in 3 years I have lost 40-55 pounds...but I seem to mess around with the same 20.

Jiff stopped by yesterday morning and looked terrific in a nifty pants suit. She said she had a dinner meeting last night.

yea right.

I bet she had a date.

Wonder what his credit card status is?

:ziplip:

a walk and cleaning on schedule for today.....and many huge hugs...for you, Janice.

Morning all!

Janice, gosh...........wish there was something I could do. The green discharge is not something to be messed with. I know you want to be there for your Dad and if there is anyway you can I know you will. But, what about your brother..........can he pull duty until you can arrive? My Dad had this done a few years ago, my hubby was having surgery at the same time, talk about being pulled, it wasn't fun. I know you will work out a soultion. BIG gentle hugs for you.

Back in a minute, friend is on the phone

goodforme 11-14-2002 07:56 AM

Good morning everyone. Up til 1:30 last night, making CD's for a friend's wedding. Hmmm, does this mean I have to buy a gift too? Anyway, late start again this morning, and did I mention the heater core in my car broke the other day? Not fun while driving in traffic and the damn windshield re-freezes after I've already scraped ice. Thank God I didn't actually wreck, although it was a close call. Also glad tomorrow's payday so I can fix the dumb thing!!! Hope ya'll have a wonderful day, and J, check your pm's. Prayers and love girl!

debkay 11-14-2002 08:09 AM

Okay, I'm back.

peachie I missed Tom Arnold on Hannity and Colmes last night. I had it on and was going to watch it, but took two Tylenol PM's and next thing I know it's morning. He can be amusing at times, sorry I missed it.

I had that horrible GYN appt yesterday. Normally, while it is not my most favorite thing to do, it's usually not bad. But Yesterday she did a, I know this will be spelled wrong.......endrometrial biopsy. She said some women feel little pain, but that it can be painful, but the fact that I had three kids she thought I would be fine. Well........................NO I thought I was being butchered. I was so dizzy after she did it I had to just lay there, tried to stand up and couldn't. Boy, I never, ever want to go through that again.

Jennifer, when we painted our cabinets white in our old house, we had to do many coats on them as well. It was such a pain. My hubby painted the middle of the cabinets in a country blue (this was back in 91) and all around in the white. And it was the thing that sold our house in March of 92. The couple that purchased our old house in Virginia said the blue and white cabinets the wife loved, so they purchased our house.

Have a good day everybody.

Debbie

Morning Glories

A quickie this morning - wound care center wants me early!

Thanks for your hugs, love, suggestions and pm's!!! You all are the best! Sorry I forgot to serve cheese with my whine yesterday! :p

Chad, DS-31 yr ol - called last night and this is what we worked out. I'm going to the wound care center this morning and do whatever they tell me. I'm not messing around with this boobie issue anymore. I nicely informed the surgeons office that I will not be visiting them today - they specialize in plastic surgery and it's time to go to the wound specialist. After picking up the required wound healing supplies and more prescriptions they feel that I should be able to travel, no prob. So, Chad, Stephen and I are driving out to SC. There was no way I could get an affordable price on line and be assured I could still do the doc visits this morning. It will take us about 18 hours to get to SC but at least I will be there in the wee hours of the morning and be able to see my daddy before they take him into surgery. I may stink a bit-but that's ok.

Received more upsetting news last night. My fathers twin sister passed away. We've all agreed not to tell daddy until after the surgery. It's difficult enough losing his sister, but you know what they say about the connection of twins. I just hope none of the nieces or nephews let it slip.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I'll try to check in as soon as I can. Dad's surgery is tomorrow at noon.

Hugs, love to all!

Janice

Quick good morning, chickies.

Janice, what a horrible situation! Jennifer 3FC had some good suggestions - worth a try unless you've already gone that route. The most important thing is for YOU to stay well. (((MamaJ)))

Forced myself out of my funk yesterday - stayed OP, drank water and lost that 3 pounds from Chinese food overnight. Now I need to work on budging the next 3 from the weekend ham and Halloween candy!

I'm trying to get organized for my trip to Vancouver and Nanaimo. My daughter has set up a "visit" with her future in-laws. No wedding date is set yet - have to talk to her about that - after 7 years together and a three year old, what's the problem? It could be one of our "heavy" discussions. The fun part of the trip will be seeing LindaBC. I love visiting people I know from the net because it sort of puts them in context. Another friend from WI came to visit me and now knows what I mean when I say "looking out the kitchen window" and I know the view from hers.

Yesterday I did a bit of Christmas shopping in a local craft store - some neat stuff. I had planned to take Christmas gifts with me out West but am travelling very light because my shoulder (still!) and wrist are giving me grief. As soon as I get back, I'll finish my shopping before my other wrist operation on the 27th - time is flying by!

I have to tackle my kitchen floor this morning and had better get at it. Lucy came in with mud to her elbows this morning and has already had a bath (she loves her bath). I'll go find the mud hole and put straw on it after I do the floor.

Catch you later.

Jennifer 3FC 11-14-2002 10:41 AM

Good morning! Almost slept through breakfast. Rob made me stay in bed because vacation is almost over, and I haven't really done 'nothing' yet. I loaded groceries back into the cabinets until 1:30 this morning. Well, I alternated that and playing on the computer. Had to break the monotony! This morning I will finish them up along with appliances and dishes anc glasses, then we get to put the doors back on and the handles. Whew. I thought I was almost done. Here's another day!

I have been on plan all week, and plan to do the same today!

Janice, keep healthy and drive safe! Let us know how your Dad is doing. I don't blame you, I'd keep the twin's death quiet. Poor guy!
Big hugs and prayers for all of you!

See you all later!

ChrissyB 11-14-2002 11:26 AM

Hello Ladies

Good to see that everyone is up and about.

These boys are cracking me up. It's funny how they have their minds set on how they want to plan their schedule. I'm not going to stop them on this one. For the past two days they are getting up when DH leaves for work, 6:00 A.M. and getting all of their school work done. I suggested this weeks ago but when it was moms idea they thought that I was crazy now they thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread and peanut butter because it's 11:00 A.M. and they are done with school. I love it this way too because it gives me more time. I need more time......sigh!

I think we'll probably go to the park for "gym class" today and I'll let them run around like the wild ones they are. My dad use to say, " go out side and get the stink blown off of you" and that's what I'm going to do with them today.

I got this really neat craft book at the library yesterday. I'm NOT crafty at all. Everyone just asumes that I am because my mother just drips with creativity. My extent of any art project unually involves stick people and ends with frustration and scissors cutting whatever I've been working on into ribbons. But, this book has some great ideas for the kids and I'm actually looking forward to doing some of these things myself. Dont look for any of my work to be in a gallery near you but....I will have to keep the scissors away because I dont want the boys to learn any nasty things now do I :D

Off to gain some sanity and slather my feet with Vaseline. I know that sounds odd but I have dry feet and love the feeling of the globs of Vaseline between my tootsies. I just put on two or three pairs of socks and I'm set for the day. Remember laugh with me NOT at me.....:p

Love to all, ChrissyB :df:

Janice~~ Glad to hear that everything is working out on your end. I think not telling your Daddy about his sisters death is a good decision at this time. He doesn't need the added stress right now. Please, take care of yourself.

Ms Spotdog 11-14-2002 12:29 PM

"go out side and get the stink blown off of you" I like that one, ChrissyB - Think I'll borrow it.

Hello to all and you are all in my thoughts and prayers daily.

Happy day...

I'm sending ya'll some sunshine up north. :flow2:

It's a beautiful day here on the Gulf Coast, I figure you snow-chickies could use some of our sunshine.

I'm happy to report that I've lost 5 of the 10 lbs I put back on during my 3 week binge.

J - So sorry about your family troubles. Big hugs!! WAIT A MINUTE! I just remembered that the airline have something called a commpassion fare. You should be able to get to SC without too much trouble and $$$. Or if you want to drive, and are coming thru I-10 (?) you can stay with us if you want to make a stop for rest along the way. I'm not sure what route you'd take.

Pooky 11-14-2002 01:40 PM

Good afternoon you busy Chicks!

((((JANICE!!))), honey, I hope you get through this alright, we love you and you just come on here and cry to us if you need to, OK? Life is damned frustrating sometimes, it's great that we have many shoulders to bear it all with!

Ruth, I hope you're getting met at the airport becasue I really don't think you shouldlift a thing. I'm also thinking one of those dollies they have to cart luggage.

Deb, you have experienced EXACTLY what it was like for me to have my artificial insemination. I swear, I could barely move the rest of the day so I was glad I was on bed rest!

I have had a rush, rush sort of day and it will continue till supper. Drop in this morning, home for lunch, Miree's napping, I'm cleaning the office (or at least supposed to! LOL ), after nap is swim lesson for Miree and then home for supper. Mailed the big Christmas package to Korea--$76 to get it there! WHEW!!

Anyhoo, hope you are all having a good day! :)

Meowna 11-14-2002 02:11 PM

Hi everyone! My early night has already been shot down. Sis and her hubby had a fight, she's on her way over for some down time. Hey, she'd do it for me, wouldn't she? Nah!!!!! Hope you're all having a wonderful evening, I am still suffering from "shrunken stomach" or whatever you call it when you feel like you swallowed a football and it was only 3 crackers! Alka Seltzer is your friend, right? Talk to you in the morning!!

MamaJ 11-14-2002 09:47 PM

Hi ya'll - I'm still in Houston!

First - Meowna - I'm sorry that I've been so caught up with my own problems that I must've missed surgery for your husband. I pray that all will go well without complication and is successful.

After wound care center saw my "damage" the doctor said "no way, no how, no thought" to my leaving town. It doesn't matter if it's on a plane, car or train. My left breast is just too bad. The wound care treatment that they implemented was fascinating to me and should prove to be extremely beneficial. I was also sent immediately (after their exams, etc..) to the hospital for the first of the hyperbariatric treatments. Unfortunately during the decompression phase (2 times) my right ear would not balance out and they ended up pulling me out. I then had a bubbly bleeding right inner ear. They've put me on some things to do overnight and we will try again tomorrow. Whew, pretty painful when your ear is about to burst!

When all this is said and done I absolutely have to put all my thoughts and experiences together on a thread so it makes sense. But guess what, talked to my niece tonight and she wants to have a breast lift. After hearing a very abbreviated summation of my experience she started to have second thoughts and I told her -don't! I'd do it again in a minute - but learn from my mistakes! Despite my complications - I haven't experienced the shoulder/neck pain, etc..

Thank you for prayers for my father. My brother let him know that the doctor wouldn't release me to travel. Doc said if I did I'd be treating this from the inside of a hospital room as my breast is basically turned inside out. I spoke with him briefly earlier and will again shortly. It's truly tearing me up not to be there. My niece is in the medical field and I did make arrangements with her to assist my mom with after surgery care and check up on my dad.

Love to all and I'll be back tomorrow

Meowna - <<<hugs & prayers>>>

Jennifer 3FC 11-15-2002 12:08 AM

Janice, I understand how you feel. They would not do my dad's surgery in town because they also wanted to do something to repair is atrial fibrillation while they were at it, and the only place in the country to do this was Birmingham, about 6 hours away. If I went, that meant taking Cody out of school and going down there and Cody would not have been able to handle it. They drove my parents down by ambulance the next morning. My Mom insisted all the kids stay here, so we did. It was awful waiting for the phone to ring, but it finally did. Mom had enough to worry about while they were in the hospital, and Dad knew we all loved him before he went, and they wanted it that way. Now that I look back on it, I was more needed AFTER the surgery. Recovery is hard to watch, and that was what Mom and Dad needed the moral and physical support for.

I hope you get better soon. I don't know what an inside out breast means exactly, but it doesn't sound good! Please take good care!
