Good morning, Chicklettes.
Remembrance Day here/Veterans' Day in the USA. Yesterday in Church, Kathleen read "In Flanders Fields" and we all puddled up. Sad month and sad day. And it always seems to rain on November 11!
I have a major task this morning. I discovered last night that mice have been into my baking cupboard!

I thought I'd been hearing little noises in there at night when I drink my tea and wait for the Girls to come in from that last potty trip! It's a good thing I have not yet stocked up for my Christmas baking! So...time to set traps which I hate. (Some folks use Warfarin to get rid of the critters but dogs love to eat Warfarin - a friend of mine was completely devastated when her 5 month old puppy died from eating it. )
Lucy aka The Graduate completely destroyed her bed cushion yesterday afternoon while I was napping. On rainy days she has too much excess energy! She now is sleeping on a wool blanket with her baby blanket added! Sheesh! The annoying thing is that DH was sitting three feet from her watching golf while she undertook her demolition project!
Sue, I am going to start more regularly with the Fly Lady routines. I do seem to get far behind and know I function better with an orderly house. Yes, getting in control of one part of life is a great incentive.
DonDar - you do cakes? Hmmmmmm. How on earth do you manage not to lick fingers? I am OK until I take one taste and then I'm hooked. Talk about carb addiction.
L144S, you kind of threw me when you said fly to NY - I always think Boston and NYC are so close to each other. Just realized today, I've been thinking of NYC and Philly. I hope the ceremony for your grandmother goes well - memorial services are sad but also a celebration of life.
Well, off to tackle the mouse mess. Later this morning I will be going to the Office to show the new Treasurer some of the job. She has no idea how much is involved! She thinks an hour a week will suffice!
And hey - Chick Meet in The Garden State in May! Lots of notice to start saving our pennies.
