I'm back, checkbook is balanced and only one or maybe two, "dear, why didn't you tell me about this ATM withdrawal." You know I tell him, if he has the checkbook, but he never lists it, so of course it's my fault.  Men, ya gotta love 'em.

I spent a few minutes wrapping a couple Christmas presents, my middle son, who "thinks" he can solve all the worlds problems, I guess at 20 we all did. His take on wrapping Christmas gifts, "Mom, what a waste of time, just give everyone their own trash bag, put all the presents in there, tie it shut and put a bow on it." Don't you just love it.

dottie your poor body must have been worn out. That's a really good nights sleep.

It is 75 here today, way too hot. We are expecting severe thunderstorms this evening with possible tornados, joy, oh joy!!

Happy Sunday

Beaytiful day in big D. Just got home from church and tortillia soup is heating up. Alvin hasTV on and they are working out a diet for a fat lady named Barbara. Maybe I should listen.

Sam'sgram; Mark is my son who works with us and was supposed to fly out to Vegas to attent the auto show with us. needless to say he did n't make it. Even at 34 y/o he's still my baby.

Think I'll take a nap after I eat so I'll be ready for the return to the real world in the morning.

Well, today I had a lovely cyber chat with #2 daughter in Scotland. Luckily we had timed it right so that she wasn't wanting to go off to bed. She took a metal sculpting course all weekend and was thrilled that her teacher told her she is a natural. She e-mailed me a photo of her creation, a metal sunflower light fixture. It's really terrific. Of course, she burned herself all over her hands but she still says she loved doing it. Funnily enough, her instructor is from Vancouver. She said it was nice to be able to chat with someone who knows the places she knows.
Then I worked until the light gave out on the @#$%$# painted step stool which has been promised as a raffle prize at my club's craft sale next weekend. It is starting to come together but looks so much better if you stand back and sort of squint. I wonder if I can make that a requirement of buying a ticket on it. :^:

DH is off working as usual. I guess it's better than having him lurking around the house either snoring in front of the tv or making me do paperwork. I think he's giving me a break from it this weekend as we've had so much financial trauma lately. I do believe most of the problems have been worked out (thanks to me making some crucial phone calls and saving the day. :D ) so I'm hopeful that a substantial cheque will be in the mail to us after this long weekend.

I mentioned this in the menu thread but just in case you miss it...I have lost 1 inch off my hips and 1/2 inch off my waist in the past month....this without any weight loss (in fact a gain). I'm so thrilled. I seem to have lost inches everywhere else but my waist and hips so this is definitely a step in the right direction.
