Anybody ready for coffee?

Busy weekend here- but I'll be home all day today as my contractor is putting in the last of my kitchen cabinets and some finishing work! Hooray! So I will be nearby, but out of the way!

Tomorrow I am helping DS do a garage sale that we've been putting off for more than a year- kid stuff and leftovers from DM's house closing, not much of mine- I don't expect to get rich, but I love having my garage EMPTY!

BARB G> my heart goes out to you- that is a horrible feeling- I think Janice is right- angry beats victimized anyday. If you have to eat-think PROTIEN! It will make you STRONG- have a big old decadent steak! Isn't that better than some wimpy old bread?

I'll be back later, off to get the kitchen cleared out- and DH wants a last meal before the workers get here- I guess I can manage that.

All I have is decaf, I have to go to town and get some as my father and his Lovely bride will be here some time on Monday.
I saw White Oleander yesterday. I loved it. It was a little heavy but very well told and good acting. My friend has offered to take the kids to see the Pokemon movie this weekend. I have no desire to see it so I will hang out at the mall for an hour. Actually I need a shower curtain. Since I have to have the shower redone I had to have the door taken off. I have a party on Tuesday and I need to make the bathroom appear finished even thought it isn¡¦t.

Today is laundry finish and folding. I will have to do it in the living room. I need more space to get it don. I have gotten all the bath mats done and towels too. Sheets from the beds and the week¡¦s worth of clothes, now just the load of reds left ƒº

and I've been at work for over an hour, but not done any WORK!!!
I've been getting papers to refianace our house together, and then I had to make a report on th breakin for the insurance company. You are all right, things CAN be replaced, and to be honest the jewelry I have that I'd really be sick over if it were lost or stolen, I wear everyday I have 4 rings and a necklace and bracelet that I never take off. The lady who cleans my house is married to the man who does our "handyman" stuff and I called them today about repairing the door and she said "thank goodness it was probally kids who didn't know the value of the "stuff" your house is full of. What she was talking about is all of the antiques and antique glasswear and pottery we have. Ohhhh... maybe I ought to get that scheduled on my insurance too. Do you do such things? I guess I'd better check on that...anyway it's work as usual today, then go sit at the hospital with Mom & Dad.

A cool beautiful morning here in Houston. I'm actually feeling motivated to finish deep fly lady cleaning and clean that nasty patio that dh and ds's things is for storage! lol At least it'll look nice till they return tomorrow. :dizzy:

Barb~Thank goodness the thieves didn't realize the value of your antiques! Do you have a home alarm? I'd definately include their value in your homeowners insurance!

A rush visit to the surgeon yesterday. The nurse was reviewing my chart and since I'm a smoker I have to take some special blood oxydizing pills prior to surgery. $90 a bottle! :eek: But they supposedly help in the healing process.

We had a great girls night out last night. Susie and I hung out yesterday afternoon, went to the surgeon, a quickie lunch and then on to meet Dawn and a few other friends It's the first we've gotten together in quite some time. With Susie having two little boys it's hard for her to have "girlie" time. I was the party pooper tho and had Susie bring me home around eight or so. Dawn "E'd" me some pictures of her and I on vacation. If I can figure out how to downsize them I'll try to post them. I really need a new picture of my dear friend Susie, too.

Slug reporting for check in!

Dh took the big kid to west point for the football game. Since I have been spending so much time in the basement cleaning, the rest of the house is a mess, so I guess that will be my fun and excitement for today. My house will never ever be in order until I can set up a storage section in my basement.

I am feelling sorry for myself and quite resentfull of dh and my freakin phone is not working! Rain does that to it...ya think since dh worked for the phone co. this would not happen

and the shoemakers children had no shoes.

at least he is not yapping about me getting a job anymore. Gosh I am a crabby princess today!!!

Food wise I am doing ok until about 9:30pm....I'll make a seperate post on that and maybe you chicks have some ideas for me.

Hey Janice! Glad you had a girls night out!!! Tell Dawn, and Susie, for that matter that I said "hey!"

Barb! been sending prayers up for you and your family. Gosh, what alot of stuff you have going on! Oh! and Barb! thanks for letting me know about craft day on qvc. I didn't know about it! I did watch some of it....but will admit to throwing things at Donna Dewberry....I STILL can't paint that freakin leaf!!!! If you should happen to catch when they are showing Diamondique (sp) let me know.....I may want a whopper of a bauble....not that I wear them that much but I would like a new engagement ring....gee, I could say a whole lot about a new fiance...but I will practice some restraint!!!

L, I have been telling my boys that they have to sit when the pee now, and they have been protesting but at least now their aim is a bit better. The big kid saw the pokemon movie yesterday and loved it.

dyan, been thinking about you and that gunman down there. My sister lives about an hour or 2 away (help me out here on my geography Debkay!) and she says the kids there are begining to freak. I can't imagine how rough this is for you guys! We had son of sam here when I was in high school and we were terrified. Been sending prayers down there too. As to flylady, well, I just bought a pair of slippers that have permanent ties on them...sort of a bow, but a tie, and IT counts in my book.

HEY DOTTIE! Thanks for asking about me! Do you really mean to tell me that I am NOT going to get rich having a garage sale!!!!???????? DASH IT ALL! Remember when you were thinking about organizing people's houses? I think you should come out here and help me. Here's the deal.....I'll paint you 8 pink flamingoes in Christmas garb. The first one will have a shiny nose or beak and you can put them up on your roof top for the holidays....what do ya say????!!!! sound good? I have sent CHICKADEE a set and she has them up right now....so excited she was to get into the holiday lighting spirit so early!!!!

OH! I saw jiff the other day....her toe is gross but the rest of her looks terrific. She has these tiny shoulders. I started my Christmas shopping the other day and since I had not given her a birthday present I gave her, her Christmas present. It was a black speckled sweater jacket and I made her strip in my kitchen and try it on. She looked great.

I think I'll stay here all day so I don't have to clean. I do feel less of a slug....well just a bit, thanks for letting me hang out here.

ok, I have edited this at least 3 times and now I am really going to scoot !

I'm taking a break from yard work today--pulled down my yellowing morning glories and collected the seeds--wow a great big planter full! All the pine needles have come down and we can't see our driveway anymore so I've been a raking fool.

Miree's down for a nap and I get to collect what little marbes I have left.

Afternoon all. I have been lurking about this site for a bit now, thought I might pop in and say hi! I am on Atkins, down 22lbs since August. Hit a stall for a bit but am back on plan again. Felt so much better when I stick to the plan, don't know why I fell off??? Our weather here on Vancouver Island is beautiful today, I found a delphinium in my garden about to bloom, silly thing, doesn't know the date I quess. My passionflower vine is still in bloom too. Stopping in to say hi before toddling off to bed. My kitchen cabinets are finished, finally, and look great. I am so relieved, and can take the rest of the dishes and spices and junk out of the den!

Janice and Pooky(and anyone else who cares) I think the walls will be a yellow-y gold, kind of soft, maybe even that glazed finish that looks sort of Italian villa-esque. But we got used to the half ripped off wallpaper and the bits of previous wallcolors peeking through. Since the walls aren't in good condition, need plastering in a few spots, I may end up papering just to get better coverage. This is not going to get done immediately. So, I'm not finished, but at least can put everything away!

Peach, I'll organize your basement if you'll glaze my kitchen?

oh, that's right, this is a DIET and WEIGHTLOSS Board- I guess I should say something about my eating. I haven't been eating well and today had a scary incident of low blood sugar for the first time in ages, from a skimpy lunch and no snack or dinner til late. I felt shakey and irritable and upset. This hasn't happened in a while- I guess sometimes we need these reminders about why we do this WOE> I feel better now. But skipping meals is a no-no for me! And the carbs have got to stop. I've got to even out my eating better.

Ok-DH is Hispanic-I'm open minded and consider myself multi-cultural! however the only time the backside neighbors seem to cut their grass is when they are planning to throw a party! Guess what they're having right now? Love the music but it's 10:35 Txx time and they're just now getting wound up. Geesh!

We have Chris this weekend, and we've been doing crafts. He made clay beads with me, and we worked on some scrapbooking stuff. Unfortunately we also made cookies. I did something I swore I'd never do. I bought refrigerated cookie dough. I've always said that if I wanted to make cookies I'd make them from scratch, but at the store today I gave in. The package made 12 and I ate 2 of them. Chris had 3, and I just sent DH off to work with the rest.

My total for the day comes to 46 carbs. I'm so not happy with myself right now. I can feel a total binge coming on, like "well you blew today anyway so what would some pasta hurt". BUT, I'm going to sit here and type until the cravings go away. Or until I fall asleep. I'm wiped out. I really admire all you moms, cause this parenting thing is tough work.

Thanksgiving Sunday here and pouring rain. Hershey and I walked to Church (total of 4 dogs and 14 people there) and got soaked coming home. It looked like it was clearing so I changed out of Church clothes and took Miss Lucy for a village/park walk. The first half hour was great and then the heavens opened! We were down by the graveyard in the park and I was tempted to crawl in with some of my relatives! "Surprise! Happy Thanksgiving! Just thought we's drop in. Gosh, that turkey smells good!" :D

Gave up on that idea and walked the half hour home in the rain. We are both soaked to the skin but it was a great walk! Just had a Caesar sans booze and am going to soak in a hot tub for a bit. I walked for an hour! If I did that in the rain, what can I do in decent weather?

Dottie, I so want new kitchen cabinets but just had the counters replaced (in 1994!) so Dh won't even consider it. I may paint the cabinet doors when this wrist crap is over. Yes, it does hurt today and I was easy on it yesterday - well, maybe not. I know exactly what yellow you are talking about - Tuscany comes to mind.

Barb, I hope things are going as well as can be expected. That Alvin person had better start paying attention to you. It sounds like you are having a lousy weekend and don't need more aggravation.

MamaJ, I hope the party either got quiet or you joined them. We have done that a few times - our neighbours usually just invite everyone and so there are no complaints.

Dyan - cookies are not a sin. Nor is buying cookie dough. I have some great (and quick) cookie recipes if you want the real thing next time.

Meowna, welcome to the LC Boards. it sounds like you have some useful Atkins experience to add to this group of Wise Asses. (Whoops! CHICKS! Who IS the moderator in here anyhow?) I will be on Vancouver Island in November, visiting my daughter. Are you in or near Nanaimo perchance? Maybe we would meet for a coffee.

L144s, do I detect a hint of sarcasm in "my Father and his lovely bride"? I suspect there is a story there.

Pooky, our pine tree is still holding its needles but they are yellowing. I try very hard to get them raked up before the leaves come down as there is nothing worse than dogs with leaves AND sticky pine needles! You can come do mine next weekend - I'll send the bus fare to Kingston!

Peachie, I hope to heck you are not still cleaning! I'm glad DH is seeing the error of his ways - for the time being, at least.

Jiff, poor piggy toe! Which one is it? the stayed home one or the
wee-wee-weee one? I bet it's the went to market one. I hope this coming week sees some resolution to your work situation.

My tub is run and is probably cooling off.
