Good morning!
Back to school night was fun, But the best part was the drink after. I had the sitter so it seemed like a good idea. Now after 5 hours of sleep and a ffull day ahead of me I am thinking it wasn’t he smartest thing to stay out that late. Oh well, I am off to take the kids to school and hit the gym, some of my coffee group joined the gym so we have switched to lunch on Fridays instead. Today will be our first. Ok time to get the kidlett up. Welcome to the newbies and to LIZ, good to see you, it has been a while. To the rest of you…keep on plugging we will get there one of these days. -L |
Sue, you are up waaaay too early for me--in fact I"M up way too early for me! Miree decided that 5:50 is a great time to wake up, boy oh boy, she doesn't give her poor mum a break, does she? The good news is she'sind daycare all day! :cb: It's a good thing too becasue it is raining now and if she had to stay home she would be bored to tears and even more of a handful than she's been recently.
So today is cleaning the house central--I have a lot of yard work to do this weekdn and I dont want anything else interfering with that. L, can't wait to see a pic of your wee ones now that school pics are done--does it take 6-8 weeks to get them back like it does here? Ruth, hope Lucy is using her time preciously with you and maybe she'll be a better dog because of all the extra time! Deb, resist the sugar and peanut butter cookies whenyoumake the! :D Sherrie, how are your tests going? Have they managed to help you with your flow problems? Leenie, I guess your boss was in yesterday, hope you have a better day! :) Rachel! Glad to see you post! What's up? Sorry about your dh's cousin, best regards to the family ... Sil, that dog pillow sounds divine! I'm getting a puppy on Canadian Thanksgiving weekend (Oct. 14th) and if yours turns out OK,wanna make me one? Hi Liz! We issed you! How is everything? Welcome Fly Away, you'll find tons of support on this board and some great friends along the way. :) What plan are you following? Dyan, way to go on breaking the plateau! I get frustrated when I hit one and question whether or not it's working for me. Then after all my griping, I usually lose a pound! Debbie, there are some great snack ideas on older threads--let me see if I can find them--or did you put them over on the FAQ page Ruth? Linda, I don't envy you your bathroom woes. Sonds like you hae a broken seal. Ours did that 2 days after we moved in here! Grrr..... Hope you get it fixed up real soon! :) Peach, my grandma does the same thing--she buys and makes food like there's 30 people in the house! I guess old habits die hard... Jiff :nono: you shouldnt be walking on that knee! You could do mre damage untilthe swelling goes down! How long do you have to be on the meds for? Oh Sams G I hope you get the job!! Toryah--how are the wee ones? I'm super jealous of you, I love small kids! |
Friday, CRYDAY! Off to the gyno today, NOT my favorite place to go. The flood is in full force too, how embarrassing! Hoping for an ultrasound today, sorry to the tech. Ugh....... Anyway, he's probably going to give me a verdict today, so cross your boobs for me, ok?
Ya'll have a great day, I gotta go shower and finish getting mom ready for me to go. Talk to you later! |
Rainy here too, Pooky, and we need it although I don't need muddy paws in the house I'm going to clean. Gail comes Monday but my company arrives tomorrow - lousy timing!
We are off to take my car to the dealer for the usual maintenance and also to look at the back door which does not reliably close. It's a bit disconcerting to have a door open when you are whizzing along the highway! Methinks it needs a new latch. Finally heard from the trainer re Lucy's haircut. She says to go ahead and cut her myself to get rid of the mats. Now why could she not have said this a month ago instead of calling at 6 last night! Of course yesterday was the last day the local groomer and I had free, Linda comes for a visit tomorrow and I get the wrist op a week from today! Poor Lucy will have a strange haircut as I'm just grabbing her and cutting the bad spots! At least Hershey is not around to laugh at her. I wonder if Linda would like to help me cut the dog instead of going to Upper Canada Village - guess not. I have NOT been strictly OP the past few weeks and the weight has been staying the same. Seems like I've been 205.5 for years! During L's visit, I will try to be as LC as I can be but she is a bit of a militant health food nut and eats lots of carbs and very little protein and fat. I'll try to eat low carb as much as possible but will not make an issue of it. I wish folks would get it through their heads that people are different and different diets suit different folks! I've got laundry, vacuuming and tons of other stuff to do so had better get the butt moving and take the car in first! Have a great TGIF, Chicklets. |
gee....this should be a good day  the little guy loudly called me stupid because I won't let him play with his play station this morning. Hope the gals at weigh in this morning don't call me names too! That just might send me to the crapper.
later, peach |
Good Morning!!!!!
A busy bunch this morning. Pooky enjoy your day without the little one, even the best Mom's need some "me" time. Sherrie I hope you can finally get some answers today. peachie, had to chuckle at the little guys story. Jiff take it easy on the knee, and yes, one peanut butter cookie for you. After all we could stretch it and say it was protein   to everyone else!! I'm in the middle of my cookie baking, almost finished with the peanut butter cookies, than I think I will take a break, and have my breakfast before I start the sugar cookies. Last week I gave each child two cookies, I think I will try to give them at least 3, they all wanted more. &%$# it's supposed to rain again tonight. Earlier I heard 50 % chance of thunder storms, now I hear 60 %. Didn't we get wet enough last week??? And of course it's another away game, so we get to ride on a hot steamy bus with soaking wet kids. But, you all know I LOVE IT!! :D:D Well maybe, not the rain, but I love the kids in the band. Have a good one everybody! Debbie |
Happy Friday Chickies!!!
Today is ........ WOW! I just got a phone call about aNOTHER job! I have an interview today at 2:00 and, oh yes, another one on Tuesday!!!! I guess the man upstairs really DOES want me to work for a living:lol:  Fortunately for me, last night I had my hair cut and colored (I think big roots just don't work at a job interview (even tho I had them at yesterday's, the guy was "older") do you??? ;) ) and this morning I had a manicure/pedicure...... so, the rest of the day's errands will have to either be postponed or get done as late as I can!!! Sue, make sure you take some time for yourself this weekend - you deserve it! You do so much for everyone else! Pamper yourself a bit (and yes, that IS an order!!) L, I hope your day isn't too hard - those short nights can be murder! Pooky, if you have some spare time (today or any day) - my house could use a good cleaning too! Sherrie - don't worry about the sono tech - that's our JOB! The patient is always more embarassed than the tech - don't worry, we're used to it!! I just hope you get a good result! I'm crossing my boobs for you! Ruth, sorry about the rain, muddy paws and no house cleaner! Maybe you can train Lucy to wipe her feet in the next hour??? :D Peachie, I'm sending light vibes towards your scale! Deb, enjoy the band...... I don't know HOW you do it! Do you use earplugs or something on the bus????? :?: Well, off to eat lunch and then get dressed for the interview ...... Hope everyone is enjoying their day..... |
Boo !
|
Happy day everyone! Sil & Deb - did you watch CSI last night? All I can say is WOW! I thought I had low self esteem at times, but nothing like that.
I finally got the car financed! WHEE! I get to pick it up tomorrow. Sherrie - How'd it go at the Dr? Toryah - How is the new job? SG - I agree about the roots. It's killing me not to color my hair, but after 16 years I'm trying to go "natural". I want to see if I have any gray yet. LOL How'd the interview go? Anyone seen/heard Barb? |
Wel I almost fell asleep in MAT class this morning so I ditched early and hit the eliptical, another school mom hopped on mext to me and we talked the whole time.
Jiffy lube, bookstore, Macy's, lunch with the girls, carpool, icecream for the kids and a 3 mile walk with kids and friends. Tonight is my my night out I might make it through the movie. See you chicks in the morning ( maybe afternoon!) be well, -L |
Hi everyone! The doc was less than reassuring today. He said he was almost certain I don't have cancer. Well, thanks a lot! I was never worried about that until he mentioned it! Anyway, cancer does not respond to treatment and my condition does, so it's not cancer. It's a benign condition that causes me to have a thick endometrium, but not endometriosis, the overgrowth. Anyway, he doesn't want to do surgery of any kind, unless I don't respond to this treatment. THE SHOT!! I was amazed, as it causes out of control bleeding in some people, as well as weight gain and hair loss and mood swings, etc, etc. He told me it will shut down my ovaries and make the endometrium stop growing, and that I never have to have another period if I don't want to, cause there won't be anything to shed. But, if I ever do meet the perfect man and decide to have another child, he would like me to have that option. So, what do I think about this? Well, I sure hope it works, but I don't think it will. It seems that people who are prone to bleed have the worst problems with the shot. I am willing to try it for six months though, with the understanding that if it gets out of control, he will do anything he can to control it.
So, after waaaaaaaaaaaay too much info, I will close for now and go find dinner. Talk to ya'll later! |
Sherrie, what is that shot? Is it like a birth control pill? I hope it works anyhow. As a sufferer of lengthy, frequent, HEAVY TOMs before having my hysterectomy, you have my total sympathy. It really leaves a gal feeling dragged out and when you feel that tired, you can only think of sleep and food which sure doesn't help the weight problem.
I went to #1 daughter's today (the hairdresser) and had a trim but not much of a visit as she was very busy. Talking about ROOTS??!! Mine are about 1-1/2 inches long now but there's still enough reddish/goldish/brown on the ends to make it look like it's been streaked. I notice the roots are noticeably more grey than they were two years ago when I started colouring my hair. I want to let it grow out though and just have her frost and tip the front. I got on my scale this morning expecting a big hike because of all my overindulgences this week, but I was down a wee bit. I'm going to try to be more OP for the coming week and see what happens. I did make it to the pool and did my usual deep water jogging and swam three lengths as well. Consequently when I finally got home this afternoon and sat to watch Y&R, I promptly fell asleep. I guess I didn't miss much. Hope to see y'all over the weekend. LindaBC |
LMAO l;inda ievery time i sit down to watch tv i am asleep too!!!
congrats on the weight loss!! |
