Afternoon girls:cb:
Boy...you girls sure are a busy bunch!! But I'm going to give it my best shot to keep up with you. Guess I could tell ya alittle about myself. I'm 51 years old and married to a wonderful guy for the last 5 years. I have two grown children and three grands, the youngest one just born 3 weeks ago. I work for Metro schools in Nashville has a Food Service Manager, going on 14 years. I also work part-time at the staduim for the Titan games. :D I have been over weight most of my adult life and have found that low carbing works best for me. Peachie...I'm almost afraid to answer the "baseball" question BUT I found I enjoy football better than baseball. Hope that's not the wrong answer...LOL. Today is day two of my Adkins quest and so far I'm staying on plan 100%. I already feel a lot better and not so tired and FULL! Thanks everyone for welcoming me into your group! :dancer: DEB |
Did I welcome you yet, Debbie? If not, here's a big, warm Chickie welcome for you.:goodvibes I love the ATkins plan. If I wasn't doing so well on Fat Flush, I'd be on Atkins and plan to go back to it once I achieve my goal (when that will be who knows). WHen I say I'm doing well on FF, I don't mean I'm losing lots of pounds, but clothes I haven't fit into in years are now fitting so that's a good sign, right?
Kel, what makes you think I'm a good cook. I think most of my meals are quite ho-hum, but thanks anyhow. I'll try to live up to your praise. :o BTW, I bet your daughter looks gorgeous with her newly straightened teeth. I remember when our older daughter got hers removed at about age 15. Suddenly we were faced with a young lady who not only had nice teeth but had almost overnight developed a bosom and a waist and was attracting male attention. It was quite traumatic for me. :?: Jiff you and any and all of the Chicks are welcome to drop in anytime. I sometimes feel so isolated way over here on the west coast. I will be seeing Ruth in November and looking forward to that very much. |
Hi everybody!
We are home from work and just settling down and relaxing. Dh making noises in the kitchen, so I'll have to get some food together soon.
But hi to all, it's nice to stop in during the week and check out all the activity. My midweeks are just go-to-work, then come-home-from-work. Crazy days, tired at night, boring, boring, boring. But this sure is a great way to unwind, and keep a healthy perspective. I am far less likely to eat badly if I check in with you guys! Not much else, beautiful day, clear blue sky, warm, dry, perfect evening. Time to go sit on the patio with a glass of cranwater(should I put it in a wineglass?) and relax and enjoy. be good, chickies! Peach, eat protien! dottie |
geez louise!!
you're that far gone, samnrosie's grandma???? did the fast do you in??
as for the rest of you, it's always such a pleasant diversion to read all the STUFF during the day, even if i don't get a chance to post. and work was better than expected. actually got some stuff done, without being pulled into endless arguments and meetings. and it seemed as if the vps decided to avoid me. made me happy!!! as for the rest... actually hit my protein and exceeded my water goals for the day!!! but i have to go see the doc about my knee tomorrow. it's just not any better and it's hard to walk. drat!!! and maggie and i were up to more than 2 miles!!! and it's so hard to disappoint her when she asks so politely for a walk. she lies down, and puts her head on her paws, and looks up at me through those eyelashes, with that tail thumping... how can i resist!!! and then she starts talking to me!!!! but at least i'll get a weight tomorrow, and we'll see how i'm doing. i found out over the weekend that a rule of thumb is that at 6 months, we'll lose about half of whatever weight we're going to lose as the result of the surgery. soooo, if that's true, i'll manage to be below my goal!!! still have a ways to go, though. and debbie A... i can tell you're going to be a FABULOUS addition to this group. did you know that we've actually had a couple of get togethers?? and we're planning another one for next year, perhaps next august in delta, ontario. that's where ruthie's fair is and it sounds like fun. but nothing is decided or cast in stone. just start saving those pennies!!! well, either i should make some tea,. or pay some bills. i vote for the tea. sleep well all you wonderful chickies... |
Hey Debbie, I am in Tennessee also! Do you have a hard time sticking with your diet while working in the food industry?
Pookie, Miree will like Monsters Inc! She even kinda looks like the little girl in the movie. :) Shrek might be ok...she won't understand the suggestive stuff that Eddie Murphy jokes about. Cody is starting to pick up on stuff...we went to our first and last PG-13 movie a couple of months ago. Too suggestive, and Cody laughed so hard he looked like he was at an episode of Def Comedy Jam. He can see another when he's 15! Jiff, congrats on hitting water and protein! How much protein are you supposed to eat? Somebody PM'd me a while back and told me I was eating too much protein and it was bad for my heart. Ruthie, I will blow some of my Pooky-baby vibes over to Hershey. Poor girl, I hope she gets to come home soon! You all are too funny with your cat jokes! Off to bed...have to get up in EEEKK! 4.5 hours! |
