Default Aug 31 & Sept 1 Can you believe it?

morning girla had another late night as i was trying to go home things started to go crazy here. so i stayed to get things done. i never made it home to feed the kids and dh was too stopid to get out any food for them. not much else here except the stopidity of men.

coffee is on and hot. it even tastes good.

I have so many car repairs to get done. i had the shocks replaced and one of themufflers. why do they put two on a car?? one rightt after the ohter?? so now the ohter had blown a hole. the kicker is that the frame is rusted out so that i need to get the frame welded (scheduled for tuesday) before i can fix the rest. i have also just put on 4 new tires on this car. so once i get it fixed it should be good to go for a few years!!! i need it to do my local driving. then i can worry about getting a new car as dd2 should be ready. she is almost 14 now. so maybe this will last it is older than she is now. by 5 years!!

Good morning and happy weekend. Where the heck did the last two months go? I'm not ready for September! I'm going to pretend it doesn't start until Tuesday after the long weekend.

I ended up working the Bingo last night and did not get home until 1:15. Another woman was driving so I relaxed (aka dozed) on the way home and then could not get to sleep! It was sort of a special Bingo and I was so delighted to pay out $5,600 to a woman who was crying as she held the cash. Her husband lost his job this week and this was a wonderful windfall. I don't play Bingo myself and hate to see folks who are on welfare spending big bucks on it but....

Yesterday I tackled the grubby matted furball that is supposed to be Hershey, the North American champion! She is half done (never tackle a job like that at 4:30) and looks much improved. This morning I do her tummy and legs. She is good as gold - even stays on the table when I go to get something - and it's just a low table! Did I ever mention that I love my dogs?

Sue, I truly sympathize with your car woes. You did such a good job on the plumbing, you should tackle car repairs next. Just kidding but..... I bet you could do it if you had the time.

You know, all is peaceful here. DH is up and will look after the dogs so I think I'm going to crawl back into bed for an hour and see if I can go to sleep. :sheep: No bets however!

Have a great Saturday.

Peachie Quick!!! It's craft day on QVC tune in anytime for some wonderful new ideas!!!

Of course I'm disappointed, because Saturday morning is supposed to be fashion morning. I like to watch to see what's new. Don't buy anything, just get ideas!

Good morning everyone - just wanted to pop in and say "hello" - I've been at school all week and doing "homework" at night to ge ready so I've only been able to do some quick reads this week.

Hope everyone is doing well - I've stayed OP all week and am gearing up to stay that way no matter how many treats are brought into school. Ruth - I'm with you on the summer thing, but I am holding out until I have to actually wake up Tuesday - then I'll HAVE to admit it's September!!!!

Have a super weekend everyone!

Yes, Ruth, back into the bed is the way to go! I hightly recommend it! I stayed in bed til 8 this morning, it was great. I feel like I can accomplish so much today!

Hi Sue, I don't even want to start on the stupidity of men. It is amazing to me sometimes. Well, if he would just take orders I wouldn't mind but he is very independent and likes to do things his way (the wrong way). I have a lot more work to do, and have been working on him for 9 years! This is why you have to stay married for life, it takes that long to fix them the way you want them!

Many chores today, but it is cool and my energy is high. I am no thinking of fall until Tuesday- just want to enjoy the "summer" I will grill out tonight and tomorrow, and just enjoy!

I am preparing for our "back to school challenge" by getting some cooking done and freezing a few lunches and dinners. Anybody else preparing?

well, I will come back later to see who else is up and about-
have a good one,
dottie

hi DD and Age-o, have a good day!

Good Late afternoon everyone!

Dh let me sleep in this morning and then we got crackin' on the office. We managed to move our internet connection and our computer into the guest room. So now I'm all set up and ready to rumble!!!

This weekend is all about work, work, work--after all it is Labour Day weekend, isn't it? We have to move, clean, throw out so much stuff, we can't possibly do it all in one weekend. For sure this is the beginning of the fall cleaning extravaganza.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Hi everybody! Been a busy couple of days. I don't think I even read yesterdays thread! I had to be at work at 7Am yesterday, and then I worked over, then we went straight to a movie and out to dinner and then to Target to shop for lots of things I don't need and shouldn't buy, but did anyway. I was dead tired last night so didn't get any work or fun time at the computer. Today has been busy too!

It looks like a train hit my living room. As soon as all the big projects are done, I promise to sweep and stuff!

Today was on plan all day and yesterday was good too, except I ate popcorn at the movie. I also was 5 pounds heavier this morning. Better be salt!!

See you guys tomorrow. Hope you are having a nice weekend!

Well, talk about your embarrassing moments. I went to a local farm outlet out on the highway today. They have lovely fresh grown produce so I really filled my cart. Got to the checkout to pay by my debit card and there were insufficient funds. They didn't take Visa and I had no cash. Gosh, did I ever feel dumb. You know those debit cards are great but I never know for sure how much I have in my account and today IS the end of the month. Duh! So, I slunk out of there hoping nobody I knew was anywhere near. Had to go home and write myself a pay cheque, then run to my bank to deposit it. I didn't have the nerve to go back to the same produce store though. Found another one and it was actually cheaper with nice fresh stuff too.
We seem to have some wet weather moving in, just in time for the holiday weekend. I always feel sorry for the folks trying to get in one last weekend camping and the weather turns like this. We really need the rain though. Never thought I'd say that but we've been having a long dry spell here on the Wet Coast.

Speaking of imbecilic men...I had written out a cheque for my dh to sign to pay the Visa bill. The top part is his purchases and the bottom part is stuff on my Visa card. As usual we had the same confrontation. Him: "What the H*** am I paying for here? I'm going to cut your da***d card in half! Do you think I'm working my a** off just so you can throw it all away on dumb stuff?" yadda yadda yadd. So, when he finally wound down, I went over all the things on my card...like the phone bill and the tv cable, dinner out with him and my aunt & uncle a couple of weeks ago, and the printer repair. Then I get the same old question I get every month..."Why are you paying the phone bill and the cable on your Visa" and gets the same answer.."Because we collect Air Miles that way you nincompoop!" How the heck does he think we were able to pay for our daughter's upcoming flight from Scotland? Sheeesh! Well, that shut him up for this month anyhow. I didn't mention that there was also $110 for groceries. Hey, he eats too, right?

So any ways hopefuly mine is acting better. He did his way of appologise last night. {sigh}

too much to do ans so little time. so off to the grocery store to get this weeks groceries. then the kids clothes as i was tooo tired last night. i did go to the store with the little guys and let them spend their pebbles. myone son picked out some thing that was supposed to be (he scaned it) 14 something i thought better but was to tired to comprehend it. well i should know better that a 7 year old tends to be dislexic. it was 41!!! i did not realize it till the cost came up. {sigh} he has been a very good boy and this is for both kids as it came with 2 so they are both are playing with it. oh dear i just had to break up 2 fights.

ROFL, Linda, mena are a hoot! They honestly think that things shouldn't cost as much as they do and are constatnly shocked at what is being paid out! Dh is the same way--I really am starting to believe it is genetics!

Well, TOM is here this morning, which is a good thing because it can mean new possibilities--let the games begin!

Have to get down in the basement and do a MAJOR clean out--it's just disgusting down there. I am marveled at how a man can keep it that way--eeeeugh!

Jennifer, did you hear anymore on the test results and stuff?

Janice, fall comes early for your chickies up north--both good and bad in that--really I would like to have a few more weeks of summer, really too short lived for us here.

Dottie, although our wee one is not ready for school yet, we marked the occasion with our final outdoor swim of the year yesterday. The water was indeed brisk!

Sue, I don't envy your car woes--the last time we had car trouble it cost us $800!

to everyone I missed and hope you all have a great day!

Default Sunday morning coffee...yum

sitting with a third cup after doing tons of morning chores- put some pork chops in to marinade, made turkey meatballs for DH dinners this week, started some bread in the bread maker. then I did a quick clean-up of the patio, threw out old pots and emptied some to be washed and put away. Today is a big cleaning day, and tomorrow will be a day of rest! I think this guy looks like he's sleeping!

Yesterday was very productive- did the banking, big shop at BJ's, and got a new DVD player. Our VCR ate the last tape we put in, so I thought it would be fun to get a DVD instead. BJ's had a combination VCR and DVD for $169, I thought that was OK. I didn't research it at all but figured I'd just bring it back if we didn't want it. We got it hooked up to the tv, but I have to get it to hook up to the stereo, so the sound comes out the speakers. We were too tired to watch the movie at the end! So tonight we will watch Black Hawk Down and try it out!

Oh, Sue you are so good to start the September challenge today, I'll go over there and post the plan for the day! (I was going to sneak out another couple of days off and start on TUESDAY!

But I am eating my bacon and eggs and have some pork chops to grill tonight.

have a great day, don't over-do it!

Angry

Good morning! Coffee anyone?

Dottie, how can you get so much done this early? I've not ingested enough coffee to even have that much planned!

I succeeded in convincing DH that Stephen and he would benefit spending another night at the deer lease! Translated that means I could use the down time! So, I relaxed yesterday. Took allergy meds, watched movies and was a real slug.

I haven't mentioned that we've had some "issues" with Stephen lately. DH took him to have some heart to hearts about reality. I keep praying something will make this kid stop and think before it's too late.

And, I believe I hinted at issues with DD, Melissa. Well, two days after returning from my "hiatus" she dropped the bomb shell on me that she was moving to England with my grandchildren in ten days!!!! Well, they left on the 16th. Been alot of worry and tears here. I finally heard from her Friday (the 30th).

Awww, kids, stress!

Today will be getting all those things I should've done yesterday done before DH returns.

Dawn registered yesterday but she wasn't able to post. Hopefully she received her confirmation and will be able to pay a visit soon. She wanted to thank ya'll for your prayers and concerns for her brother Mark.

Need coffee. Check with you later!

Morning all! A glorious Sunday. Hershey and I are just back from Church. Our service is 8:45 and ends about 9:30 but we all hang out and drink coffee and chat until nearly 11.

Big fuss from the dogs last night! I thought we had burglars and it was masked bandits! When the pantry shelf fell, DH put the stuff outside on the deck in baskets. He fixed the shelf yesterday (finally!) and didn't put the stuff back. The racoons have finished raiding the corn so they started on our groceries! The pastas were a particular treat!

More peaches and tomatoes to preserve this afternoon AFTER a nice Caesar salad witrh chicken for lunch. Hold the croutons!

Talk to you later.
