Thanks Sue for your words of encouragement. I understand and am trying very hard. My dad and I finally got a short time to talk alone this evening. I had to just finally ask him if she's mean to him. She talks so mean all the time(between her and I) but I don't know if it's just to me or if that's what she's like with my dad and baby bro on a normal basis.

I feel so guilty feeling as I do but also frustrated that I'm not here to help relieve what must be a very, very difficult situation for my baby brother. He's such a sweet, humble and very pleasing person. But he also deserves a life.

Wow, so many posts! I wish I had time to reply to more than I can right now. My life is a busy mess right now, and I haven't had time to post here or keep food journals or exercise like I want. It is busy at work and we are short handed and getting ready for a big audit next week.

SUE! I have an Italian experience myself. I met a waiter in Italy when I was a teenager...Angelo.....ahhhhh....anyway, we exchanged addresses and we wrote lots of letters to each other. Too bad I only knew English and he Italian! I spent many hours over those letters with my English-Italian dictionary trying to figure out what the heck he was saying to me. Most of it wasn't in the dictionary. I paid the Italians at a local mall pizzeria to translate for me once, and they gave me a brief run-down and snickered a lot. Who knows what he was writing me! One day I got a letter from him postmarked from Canada and he was talking about the World's Fair, which was only about 2 hours from my house. My dad made me write him back and tell him he had a shot gun and would use it if he came here. I never heard from him again, go figure! Anyway, all that Italian Butt got me flustered here....whew...BTW, I am NOT drinking enough water, thanks for the reminder.

Pooky, I did start back on Met. I am taking Gluc XR this round. The regular made me very sick for many months. Last year sucked all the way around. I had nausea and diarrhea on a regular basis and it only made me want comfort food...starches. So far the XR is doing good. I am still on 500 a day, but will work up to 1500.

That is it for tonite...cross your fingers that I will stick to this plan tomorrow. All it takes is a couple of bad bites and I'm back on carbs like drugs. What a struggle sometimes.
