Good morning, Ladies!

I've got the coffee! Who's got the time to chat?

DD complained all day yesterday about a sore throat. I'm staying home today anyway (tons of errands to run). Told her if she still felt bad this morning, I'd take her to the doctor to make sure it's not strep.

TOM is visiting me today. SOB is playing rough and I'm achy and tired. Figures. Got lots of plans for the weekend and forgot about this part of my life. Personall I think that once a woman makes the final decision to stop having children her cycle should end. I'm 38. No more babies for me -- DH even had the big "snip" to make sure. Sorry for the rambling -- mood swings are a b****!

Talk to you all later. Got to go check on DD.

Morning!

Jo, hang in there with those mood swings. Mine are all over the place during that time, (well, humph! I suppose other times too!) Maybe it is a good time to treat yourself to a non food related treat?

Ruth!!!! Snow! Bah Humbug! Yuck! phooeeyyyy and all the other expetives I can think of!

liz, glad you are feeling human again! Take it easy, how about a cup of tea?

I am sitting waiting for the doctor to call today about my darn foot. I doubt very much that he will be able to see me today during the time that the boys are in school so I guess I have to wait till Monday when dh is home or, I will have to dig in that foot some more...not fun.

The boys have been very good while their Dad is out of town. Usually dh reads the big kid a bed time story while I am downstairs watching the little guy swing from the rafters. Since dh is away I sent up a little tv/vcr gizzmo in the big kids room so he could watch a show instead of me reading to him and leaving the little guy unsupervised while he is coming off his meds. I swear I was upstairs for all of 10 minutes and when I came downstairs the little creepolla had gotten into a bag of flower and when all was said and done, my burgandy carpet was white...well, sort of pink to be more accurate!

COME HOME DH COME HOME!!!

peach
ps...ummmmm Jiff? Having a little personal hygene problem today?

Morning gals,

Having a little more difficulty today than yesterday in dealing with my emotions. I already miss my morning walking partner. I always had to step over him as I went into the bathroom, his water dish is still there. We have not told the boys yet, they think he is visiting the vet because he is very sick. We will tell them tonight. We did not want them to have any difficulty in school today.

Ruth sorry you are getting snow, we have a gorgeous day here, sunny and in the 40's but the 60's are predicted. I'll bet the girls do not care.

jdoneil, hope the little one is better soon.

Peachie, your little guy always gives me a chuckle, he sounds like a real handful. What is Jif's PHP?

Liz glad you are beginning to feel more human, take care of yourself.

Oh Jenny, I'll be right there on your shoulder while you tell your boys. Huge hugs on that! Glad you asked about jiff and her php. I dropped the big kid off at school, ran to the market downtown for cheerios, peanut butter, you know, the kid's stuff and as I was pulling in the driveway my neighbor across the street stopped me and said she was running late and could I mail a very over due bill for her. She is a single mom all of the time and a peach and I sure didn't mind. So, then, she tells me (and she is really cracking up) that Jiff stopped by looking for a certain underarm product to borrow from me on her way to work and since I wasn't home....she went to her house!!! ROFL!!!! So if someone knocks on your door...it ain't necessarily AVON calling!!!!

Hope that gave you a smile today Jenny!

love ya!

VENT ALERT!!!!!

Ok,when I got hired on at the daycare center I was told to "keep myself available" since the potential was for me to have at least 15 hours a week. Well, after making all sorts of arrangements concerning dd's daycare and such in the last month I have had a grand total of 12 hours!!! I went into the manager's office today and asked if I could get more hours since I have to keep my dd in daycare and the money I'm making isn't covering the expenses. Although she was polite, she was VERY firm--I am JUST supply staff (read: a dime a dozen and of no value or importance to the operation of this daycare) and we have to be fair to everyone for hours (read: I have already scheduled who I want in here) and you are on a rotation with all the other supply staff (read: you'll only get the leftovers no one else wants). She went on to say that she can't guarantee what my hours would be like for the summer (read: but don't bet on being full time taking over for people on vacation) and isn't raising children expensive? (read: I don't care what your money problems are, your problem not mine!) I politely said that I just wondered and I thought I would ask and left the office.

So after that fruitful conversation (NOT!!) I called dh very upset and we decided that Miree will only go part time in the mornings and I can put my resume in for another relief staff position in another daycare. Turns out there is a position available in another town a short distance from my house and the manager of my dd's daycare knows the manager of the other daycare so she's going to send over my resume for me! As for the center I work for now, if they call me and ask if I'm available it will just depend if I can get daycare for dd or if I'm working for the other daycare. So much for keeping myself "available!"

OK vent done--tired right now and I'm going to go and have a nap.

Oh, Pookie! I know exactly what you mean. At the moment I work as a substitute teacher (for very little pay). The job is on an on-call basis. I was told they were short on subs so I would probably be very busy. The most days I've worked in one week so far is three! If I wasn't collecting unemployment still, I'd be living on the streets now.

I'm giving up the sub job at the end of this month. I'm going to go to several temp agencies in the area and utilize my 20+ years experience as an administrative assistant to land some temp (maybe eventually permanent) work.

Working as a sub is a good job (IF you can afford the low wages and erratic schedule). Check with your local school department if you are interested. In NH you do not need a college degree if you are over 21. Just a clean record (i.e., no arrests/charges on file) and a high school diploma.

Thanks liz and jo, I feel better now after having a nap and letting go of my anger a bit. Gee I just wish they would be straight the first time around and that way I woudln't have wasted my time and money on something that wasn't going to happen. I certainly hope that the new place works out because even if I just a get a few hours every week, it will still meet the expenses of daycare. As it is right now, there's no way that can happen. I defy anyone to live on 12 hours a month!

Joanne, I live in Canada, different rules up here although I would love to go in for a teacher's aide--but those spots are usually hard fought over and already picked over especially in my area. My friend does sub teaching here and she worked nearly full time until she took mat leave a couple of months ago.

Pookie -- Have you considered doing something from your home? Computer work -- babysitting -- crafts -- selling. I add a little (emphasis on little at the moment) to our monthly budget by selling Avon products. Now I'm not going to go and try to recruit everyone so no comments from the rest of you, please. It's just a suggestion. Tupperware sells OK and so does Home Interior. Just a suggestion. Hope things work out well for you.

Talking Good Evening

All is quiet here. There must be something up. Hummm .. I only have one foster child right now .. usually have a full house with three or more. I dont think it will take long before I am busy again .. right now its time to relax and enjoy the quiet.

Pookie, I can relate to your situation. It would be nice if people were as honest as we all hope they are. Have you considered doing daycare from your own home?? Many of the foster parents that I know do that and love it!!

Jenny, I will say a prayer for you and your children. It will be difficult for all of you Try to focus on the wonderful memories they have.

Peach, hope you were able to see the doc about your foot .. as for the little man ... he sure does keep you on your toes Hang in there.

Ruth, I too hope for Spring to be here .. I think that little tease of summer temps got everyones hopes up
