THURSDAY, 2/21, The Daily
Starting us off with Tea!
Last night was fun watching the olympics! Wow that skeleton race looks way to scary to me. Can you believe that cub scouts was cancelled for tonight, that means we have nothing planned for the evening! Yea Ha! Maybe I will make a nice family sit down dinner. Except I am sure that something will come along to spoil it. Dottie, vacation can be a real motivator, best of luck to you. I guess we should all be picturing ourselves in shorts because the summer will be here before we know it. Ruth, thanks for flushing out the lurkers, maybe it is time to do a roll call again. Tippy, you do have a lot to say these days, I have grown concerned over your dear grandaughters, thanks for keeping us posted. My prayer go out to you and your family. Liz321, I wish I could sit down and do some scrapping like you do. I have bought all the materials and have all my pictures in a 13 gallon container, but I never take the time to do it. It is the one thing my life is lacking. Oh darn Pooky, I was hoping you would not get the job, I need a personal decorator! Good luck with the dr this morning, I will keep my fingers crossed and prayers coming! Peach, Hope the puter and anti virus stuff are doing fine today. Apparently fifths disease is making its rounds across the country, although there is a copycat mystery illness going around also, Jenni, I am glad you came out of lurkdom to post. Sounds like your dd had a great 5th birthday! Kel, Sounds like a great party you had with your internet friends, wish we could do the same here. Keep posting, I love hearing about your boys success. Who knows one of these days when they are playing pro ball, I will be able to say I knew him when he was little! Hil Leens, hope the work is going down so you have more time to play. Goodforme, I would love to give up groceries for staying home, but I am afraid my boys would not appreciate it. Hi Dottie, I third the lurker request! L144S, please keep posting, certainly am mom of 2 boys must have a lot to share. have a great op day! |
TEA! I am making coffee and will be back as soon as I "do" the dogs. Pouring rain and mild today so will wear my poncho.
|

Later
~~~~ Sure is raining out there. If this keeps up the snow will all disappear and my messy garden will be showing. The dogs don't seem to mind the rain - they get dried with towels when they come in although they would prefer to just shake. Yesterday was an absolutely terrible day! Left a t 8:30 a.m. and did not get home until 6:20 p.m. Got lots done including serious talk my music teacher. The supreme lowlight of the day (aside from the freezing rain) was my darn lawyer. What a jerk! Had to spout off about lecturing on Russian history, his daughter's cat, his 25 species of trilliums .... high fees for ego-stroking. However, last time I will have to deal with him. His Dad, a Senator, knew my Dad which is why I ended up with him as my Ottawa lawyer. Only need to see him once more to sign the final papers and pick up the cheque. The lawyer I have here is female, efficient and friendly without tooting her own horn. Wow! Nice to see so many posts from yesterday. Was really not doing any finger pointing or ^-ing - was just wondering where everyone was hiding. Pooky - this new job had better not mean we don't get free decor advice! I bet you are excited and also anxious about starting. Miree should be just fine as she is already in school. Hope the doc visit goes well for you this a.m. Peachie - bra and boa? Nice that you are planning our lives for Jiff and me. What a combo we would be! Also noticed your comment re your killer boots - do you have a clothes fetish or is that only men who have it? Tippy - No need to tell you to hang in there. I know you are made of tough stuff. I still think Uncle Vinnie could solve some problems for you. HAvea fun weekend of scraping and painting. Dottie - by now you are on your way to Lauderdale. If your suitcase feels heavy, it's because I am in it. I feel the need for a spring break. Kel - I have met several Net pals in "real life". It is amazing how you bond right away face to face. I guess that's because all the initial "getting to know you" crap is out of the way. One of these days I will meet some of the gals from this Board. Goodforme - audit blues! Don't I remeber it well. You can come in here anytime and do a "Work Sucks" post and leave. It may help. DonDar - my heart aches for you and your Kudo. Have you considered giving him aspirin to ease the aches? Dogs should live exactly as long as we do. Leens - How are you managing the working Mummy life? Is it hectic? Is that Man helping out? Jennie - when is this move? You must be getting excited. Started packing yet? Liz - I can sure relate to that tight pants feeling. There are some days when I am sorry I ditched my "comfy" ones. MamaJ - keep popping in. We are all rooting for you, girl. Now who is missing? Chickadee?? JHP? Who else? Holy smokes! Long post! BAck to real life now. Have a great Thursday |
Running late this morning so I will have to be fast! Thanks for all the words of encouragement and suppport. I think I am back on track...I am really trying! I can feel you guys helping me get back on the wagon and I appreciate it!
As far as the scrapbooking goes Don Dar, it may seem weird but when I am scrapbooking it feels as though all is right with the world and I am more organized. Have a great day! Liz Something to do with more order and less choas. Who knows? |
Well I will Post again today as the kidletts are at school. Today is parent teacher conferences for the older boy. I expect nothing less than a perfect report from the teacher. Well that is not exactly true. He is an excellent student but also very sensitive. I wish I had more patients for it. This morning he cried because I gave his brother the LUNCHABLE I had bought for him, but the little guy needed lunch. I have already been to market to get a replacement that I am sure will be doled out for lunch for little on next week.
We have a busy weekend. My in laws are up from NC to see the family. We all live here so they try to cram us all into 3 days and then get pissed that I have plans already made. Both kids will stay Late today and we will meet them for pizza dinner. I am not a low carber, but I will have to do a lot of salad today to be able to make it through dinner unscathed. Tomorrow is a day off for older boy other half of conferences, not vacation week for us) so we will go to the local Mountain for a morning of skiing. It is a lot of fun and the kids do so well, and the truth is in the 3 to 4 hours I get to ski I can burn a TON of calories. :D . Friday night is my night out. I usually go to my friends for a video and take out. I love that she opens her home to me. I bring the wine, she gets the video and we go Dutch on dinner. Saturday is reserved for the in-laws. No clue what we will do. And Sunday we will go to the snow tubing park with the kids from the karate school. I think by Sun afternoon I will do a little scrap booking. What Liz can do in 2 hours will take me about 100...lol I love to create each page and theme them. If I did it more often I might be faster, but such is life. Have a great day all and be good to yourselves. I look forward to having you get to know me as well as I know you. My post should get shorter too...lol I hope! -L |
wow!!!! you'd think that with all the running around you ladies do [i'm a relative drudge!!] we'd all be thin as rails and everyone would be telling us to 'eat, eat'. alas!!! reality bites once again!!!
no matter what the scale shows for peachie at WW today, i'm so very proud of her... she's doing great on this program. and today's a weigh in day for me as well... a visit to the surgeon. i'll let ya'll know.. dottie... have a great great vacation!!!!! and dear dondar... yeah, the skeleton looks scary, but it's pretty much a sled race. but since it's on the luge course, i count it as 'irrational behavior,' just like luge!!!! i've really been enjoying the hockey games, and it looks as if the winners will be from north america... now, if only the great gretsky would stop whining .... :devil: :devil: :lol: :wave: |
Oh, Jiff! First, it's great to see you! Second, I'm in total agreement about Gretzky!
:wave: Good Morning From the rainy Pac Northwest! :wave: (you'd think they could give us a little bit of sun or snow or SOMETHING different???) Been working on selling my little library of books. It actually takes a lot of work to list them all. I had no idea there were SO many on these shelves. But, since we are moving again and have some new furniture I need to downsize the library to save some weight. I would hate to get a bill from the goverment in a few month saying I owe them thousands of dollars for an overweight move! :eek: Stayed op yesterday, drank my water, drank my coffee and exercised. Bottom line? I'm stuck again! I just don't get it. But, I swear I'm going to endure this little problem and keep trudging along. Have a good one my friends! Remember to do a little something for yourselves today! Oh, and like always -- SMILE :) |
Morning, LC buddies!
Quick post here also. Hubby wants to go to Home Depot this a.m. for a bathroom fan for the kid's bath and a new, brighter light for over the dinningroom table. (my, my that Pooky is rubbing off on ALL of us, isn't she?)
Dondar - Don't know about my boys playing pro! We're just trying to keep them occupied and 'out of trouble', if you know what I mean. We are on the brink of the 'scary age of teendom' with them and are attempting to head trouble off at the pass. I DO love watching them play, tho. Actually, I love the whole experience: getting to know 11 other (or 22 when then are on different teams like this year!) boys, comoriderie (sp??) with the parents in the stands, the nuances of the game, the competitiveness, etc. Jiff - You are my hero, woman! Wow! Hope things went well at the docs today. ("...and your little dog too!" lol - sorry, when Cody was 4, his fav movie was Wizard of Oz and it was played here soooo many times that I can quote it line for line!) Love the rest of you guys too but can't comment individually since hubby is waiting for me to jump into the shower! Kel (who WILL be going to the gym today! - will wonders never cease?) |
Good Morning!
I've granted you all have a couple of "Chickadee Free" days, but alas, those days are over! Real life has slowed down, so I have time to hey hey with you all. Peachie I love the idea of helping Dottie out. I'm sure that together, you and I could dispense life-altering advice and therapy. Heck, I bet we could even throw in a chorus line type dance while spouting limericks to totally convince Dottie's clients that they definitely don't have any issues - in fact, they'd be thankful that they're not like us! And, Dottie, I'm surprised at you, oh learned (you have to pronounce that like learn-Ed) one! I think you must have missed the chapter in graduate school on limerick therapy. Granted, it's a little known and somewhat extreme practice, but in clinical studies, it has been shown to make even the least responsive patient react. Unfortunately, the poor patients usually hurt themselves running toward the door, but it does produce results! Jenny and Jif I was just telling my husband last night that I would try skeleton in a heart beat. I think it looks really fun. Of course, I'm probably nuts (help me Dottie!) because I think jumping out of an airplane looks fun too. I'm thinking of trying it for my 45th birthday. Ruth You've been my thoughts a number of times the last few days. First, I bought a new gardening book and am chomping at the bit to start planting and it popped into my mind that you're probably doing the same thing. Second, this morning I was playing away at my piano, when all of the sudden my "e" key decided not to work anymore. My first thought was "What Would Ruth Do?". My second thought was, run screaming to the computer. So I did! Welcome L144S. If you keep posting, you know we will have shorten that name! And, we do need you, because anybody who's ever seen Peach knows she has no rhythm whatsoever! (But she does have very short toenails!) Hello to all those to come! Chickadee Hey Kel. We were posting at the same time. So are you jumping in the shower with him? Inquiring minds want to know! |
Good afternoon everyone!
Just flying in and out today so here's the low down: I have PCOS. Not to shocked, in fact from everything I have been reading about it it pretty much made a lot of sense to me. Basically everything I'm doing is right and he's also given me a fertility drug called Metfornin (sp??) that's supposed to not only help me ovulate but has the side effect of weight loss!!!!! YAHOOO!! Hey, anything to get me there, right ladies?? :lol: I go back in 3 months to see how I'm doing. Yesterday was great although BUSY!! Loved the kids (although, there are some...:rolleyes: . Still awaiting a criminal reference check so I can get more hours--they were in a pinch yesterday so that's why they brought me in. Hopefully will have the darned paper back from the cops today sometime. :wave: to everyone posting today even our lurkers!! :) :) :) |
Glad you finally can give a name to whats been going on, Pooky.
Chickadee - LOL No, no. I shower alone. Besides, you remember what his nicname is, right? Nothing has changed in that department! Kel |
DH is home for the next few days and we're removing years of paint off of the woodwork in the livingroom. The other rooms will need it done too.
To describe this house is like this. It is a very old farm house that, by our speculation was added to as people needed to. All I can say about the previous occupants is that the only place they had taste was in their mouths. They put DARK:?: brown paneling over all the walls and painted all the woodwork dark brown too. They didn't remove the old layers either. The carpeting can only be described as it looks like someone ate chili and puked--orange,yellow and brown-hideous! Last summer the bedroom and living room were painted white but the woodwork is still brown with many chips, so we are removing all the layers before repainting. DH is using a hot gun and I'm using a gel as the fumes of the burned paint bother my lungs. The kitchen will be the last room to redecorate in a white and country blue combo with a floor a color that doesn't show dirt. If you ladies saw that floor covering, you would lose your appetite. Gotta go and scrape still another layer of crud! |
Oh, what a day!
Is it 5:00 Friday yet? Why not???????????????????????
Ruth, with your permission, here is another work sux post: all together now! Today I waited ALL day on the d**n auditors and where were they? Over at another location, before they finished mine. Meanwhile, I had things I could have been doing but couldn't move from the office, and now have tomorrow to look forward to. Okay, now that is out of my system. I love to see all these posts, ladies! Pooky, I'm sorry for your news, but there is hope. Better living by chemical intervention, I always say. Sorry I can't reply individually, but frankly, my mind can't hold on to this overload of information. Suffice to say, I hope EVERYONE has a wonderful day! |
Sherry Sweetie, sounds like you had a really crappy day and need something to relax you. How about a shower with Kel's SH? Ahhh...
Hope tomorrow is better! Chickadee |
