Did you see Oprah?

  • WOW! What a great show.

    When I read Dr Atkins book years ago, I kept saying that's me! Well yesterday I did the same thing as I watched Oprah with her guest, Christiane Northrup MD. She has two books availble on Menopause, and peri-menopause. Oprah read a exerpt from one of her books, it went something like this, a note from a concerned woman;

I was experiencing problems with my heart racing,
"That's me" said Oprah, and I said me too!

My doctor ordered an EKG, and it was slightly irregular,
"That's me" said Oprah, and I said me too!

They put me on the holter monitor,
"That's me" said Oprah, and I said me too!

    Then the symptoms dissappeared,
"That's me" said Oprah, and I said me too!

And I have felt occasional re-occurances,
"That's me" said Oprah, and I said me too!

    The doctors blamed stress,
"That's me" said Oprah, and I said me too!

Several women joining the show complained of weight gain and difficulty in taking weight off, others complained of irritability, fatigue, headaches, and more.

I will be purchasing the book!

As I watched the show yesterday afternoon, I was wishing I could call my friends at 3fc. I also wish my dh was sitting beside me to watch it.
  • Jenny, if that was the show I think it was, I think it was a repeat- it was sooo good! or maybe I'm confusing it with another book on perimenopause. I saw an Oprah last year that was so great! And I think it was Northrup who wrote the book-

It's so true that so much of what goes on with us is biological, and poorly understood- doesn't it feel good to say,"me, too!"

    me, too
