Kickin' Butt Weigh-In Week 5

  • Here we are smack dab in the middle of winter (OK, some of us, right Hensa?) and we are all in hibernation mode, right? WRONG! it's at this time of year we have to be the most vigilant with our programs! It is easy to cheat, we get ourselves in our habits! What habits do you have that thwart your efforts to stay OP? Is it watching TV and snacking? Is it being on the computer with some cola? Is it having that first thing in the morning bagel because it's quick and easy? How about that first cup of coffee of the day--are we really being honest about how much sugar we put in it? So many ways we all find ourselves "excusing" our habits in ways that sabotage our programs. What are your bad habits?

One of my habits is to sit downwith a cola at the computer. I have now banned cola from my house until I can get eating under control. I also have to admit that one of my bad habits is to watch my soap in the afternoon while munching on something. I know that I have the OP snacks there, but I gravitate towards some sort of bread--be it a sandwich (or two) or a bagel. I'm working on this habit of mine so I can free myself of past failures.

    Last week:214
    This week: 217--yikes!
  • Hi Pooky!

I'm not weighing this week (every other Monday), but I'm still kicking butt.

I don't really have a habit to break, I have a habit I need to get back into: exercise. Yes, the dreaded "E" word. I got out of the habit around Christmas and never got back. I can feel and see the difference not exercising has made to my body and it's not pretty. My family is coming to visit for Easter which gives me 2 months to get back into some sort of shape. Now that my eating is under control I have to get back to exercise!
  • A good week! HAve switched to having my evening meal on a salad plate so I have smaller portions. No chocolate and no cookies.

    Starting weight 215.5
    Monday January 28 208.5

I was 211 last week and was aiming for 210.
    Maybe 207 next week?

Still a bit of coughing so no outside walking but have been much more active this past week - even skipped my afternoon naps!

  • breaking out the June Taylor Dancers!

I am down 7 pounds since last Monday. Thank YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to The Friday Night Live Crowd here...you saved me from my weekend of grazing!

I have spent the last week or more coming to terms with what I am willing to give up or add to gain better health for now and for down the road.

Things I am willing to give up are:
    snacking
    large portions

Things that I am not willing to give up are:
    2 fruits per day
1 serving of a starch if I WANT per day, balanced with protein
    coffee w/cream

I think I can live with this for the long term.

    thanks for everything!

  • Wow Peach, 7 lbs in one week. That's awesome!
  • Sherrie here. . . . .
    Hanging my head in shame

I refuse to weigh in, because I can tell from my clothes that I had a gain. I am giving myself 3 days of VERY STRICT induction eating. Maybe I can correct some of my past mistakes.

The exercise thing is still going strong, so I don't know if I'm not doing enough, not going long enough, or what?? The gym has a trainer available, so in a couple of weeks I'll know exactly what's what.

    Good luck to everyone else!
