Hi I am new!!

Hi everyone!!
I am new but have to admit to being a lurker for a few weeks!!
Enjoy all of your posts and the sharing that you do!!

My name is Karen and I am from NE Ohio. Will turn the big 5-0 in 9 months and my goal is to have my weight under control before I do!!!

I have tried Atkins before and it worked great for me but I am having such a hard time getting back into it..just too restrictive I guess. I was wondering if any of you have tried Somersizing and what you think of it. Or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you!!

WELCOME KAREN!!!!

Hi my name is Eileen (Leens here at low carb board). I too also did atkins but didn't have good luck with it.

Last year I did CAD Carbohydrate Addicts Diet and did great......until I got pregnant lololol......well you can figure out the rest. I really did enjoy the diet. CAD at least lets you eat carbs with one meal so you don't feel so deprived.

I'm having a heck of a time starting any diet at this time BUT after 1/1/02 I'm starting again.

I just purchased Susanne Sommers Sugar she sells, its suposed to be 99% natural and only 1 gm per serving.........I haven't gotten it yet !! also I got her book, eat and be thin or somthing like that. I'll let you know when I get it how it is........oh the mail is slow haaaaaaaaa especially when you wanted to lose 70 lbs yesterday.

IF you do try the diet, PLEASE let me know how it is.......I'm kinda going to combine CAD with hers if possible.

Good luck with what ever you do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Love Leens

Welcome, and join in!

I don't do Somers, so I cant' help you with that. But a lot of folks here do great with Carb. Addicts Lifeplan Program, that lets you have carbs in a balance meal once a day. Or Protein Power spreads your daily carbs over your meals, to avoid the insulin spike that triggers cravings in carb sensitive people. And as for Atkins, at the later stages, well, once you are up to 40, or 50 or 60 grams per day, the plans start looking a lot alike!

So, whatever you decide, read your book, then read some more! And post questions or ideas, it's a big help to everyone!

good luck,
dottie

Somersizing is great! I really enjoy the way I feel when I eat her way. It's basically food combining with a lower carb twist. It's really very easy. Some of her recipes are a little fancy, but I haven't made anything out of any of her books that wasn't very tasty. I have all three of her somersizing books and enjoy the recipes from all of them.

I was losing steadily if not quickly on her program before I got pregnant. I still eat her way for the most part, and will be getting right back on it after the baby comes (I have to admit that I've been slacking and mixing proteins and carbs on an all to regular basis :( )

If you have questions feel free to ask me anything.. I don't claim to be expert, but I try my best and maybe I can help find answers in the books.

Welcome to our board! Please feel free to join us on the daily thread( that's the one with the date on it!) to let us get to know you better! I also might add that choosing a plan is unique to you as buying a new dress. The colour maybe becoming but if it isn't the right size there's no using in having it! Read as much as you can on all the plans and decide which is right for you! :)
