Weekend, December 22nd & 23rd (ho ho ho!)
Where the heck did the time go?
Coffee is on!!! up and at 'em chickies! Good Morning! We are wrapped and ready hear in the Pit household! We are wrapped...but not too tightly...just enough tension and anticipation to make things festive. My Not Jiff sister and her husband and my niece (my girl!) come today. We will take the boys this evening to a place with tons of lights and a fairy tale theme. Always a fun time and the little guy is looking forward to meeting up with the "big bad wolf" and giving him a piece of his mind! I can not wait to see my niece who now has her driver's liscence...gosh they let kids drive earlier and earlier these days! Off to do a bit of flying and then enjoy the day. Have a great one! Count your blessings! peach |
Morning Peachie and all to come. Fly Lady is buzzing around here today. I made a list of all the tasks that HAVE to be done before Church tomorrow morning - 27 in all and Fly Lord can do only 5 of them! Remind me to go to my daughter's place out West next Christmas. I think I may have bitten off a bit too much this year.
Grocery shopping very early yesterday went well. I left fridge cleaning until later BUT, when that was done and I started to unpack the food, I discovered lots of stuff missing. The darn cashier had goofed and missed my 3rd car order box. So.....back toBrockville to get them. There went 1 1/2 hours of my precious day. However, I did buy a big chocolate truffle cake for dessert on Sunday - that saved me from making the triple chocolate cheesecake. News on the puppy front. (Shhhhhh- have not told DH yet!) On the 26th when I get Lucy I will have another pup too! Morna has a huge wedding booked in her house for the 29th and has to farm out the dogs. This little pup does not go to his new home until January 18 so I will take him along with Lucy for a few days, probably until Jan 1. I am waiting for an appropriate time to tell DH! Hey, they will keep each other company and won't be bugging Hershey as much. Maybe I'll just write him a note. DH just said the magic words again - "What can I do to help?" Heheheheh - I have 5 tasks at least and can think of a few more on the fly. Have a great weekend. Sounds like it's getting pretty Christmassy around here. |
Hi, I'm off to work days today and again tomorrow...made a list for hubby of things to do while I'm out of the house...clean the vehicles, recycle, groceries, buy one last gift for my neice, vaccum etc...what do you think..will it get done....he wants to take me out for supper and a movie tonight and so has arranged babysitting, including a sleepover for them, so I don't know quite what he has planned...he feels like I have been workng too much and haven't been having enough fun...how do I tell him I have too much to do!!!! Anyhow we will have a nice dinner, movie and then home to bed then up to wrap presents until we are done!
Hope everyone is hanging in there! Ruth where out West is your daughter...if she is out this way maybe you can plan a visit here next holiday! Peachie...way to be organized...have fun with all your family...are they letting the kids drive younger or are we just gettting older...I say the same thing with the student nurses or medical residents arrive on our units at work...."they are letting kids into these professions younger and younger...." Good day! Liz in Canada |
Good Morning Kids,
WOW its almost 10:00 am.......where's everyone lol. Well I'm as set for Christmas as I'll ever be except gotta make one more trip to the CRAZY grocery store. Have a good one Love Leens |
Good morning to all!!
Finished everything up yesterday!!(I think) I may have to make one last grocery trip but DH can go it need be! ;) We forgot to put our trash out last week nad there is no pickup this week cause of Christmas so...I was at the dump this morning bright and early, nothing like a trip to the dump with a pickup truck full of garbage to start your day out right. YUK!!!!!!! DH has to go shopping today..he does this every year! Put is off and off and off, he is too funny. Need to do some cleaning, but we are going to have it pretty quiet, just us and the kiddies. Will be a nice change from the 20 people who ususally ended up at our house in FL. My brother and sisterinlaw are coming next weekend for New Years, we will do Christmas with them at that time. Should be fun. Well, off I go to the laundry room!! Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!!!!!!! :) |
Good afternoon everyone!
I slept in this morning--YEAH!!! and then dh went off to do the Christmas shopping--why is it that men always wait till the last minute? Arranging my Christmas table today--hauled out the napkins, the napkin holders, my Christmas table cloth and trying to decide how to arrange the table. Last night I went to my neighbour's house for dinner and she gave me and my dh our Christmas presents. Ruthie, you won't believe it--2 sets of Christmas dishes!!!! These aren't the same ones you have but they have holly clusters on the sides of the plate embedded in a light sage green band. They are really super. :) :) :) Now my Christmas table will be complete! As for everything else today--last minute cleaning to get ready for our guests on Christmas Eve. Have a good one everyone! |
In haste!
I'm so geared I don't know if I'm gearing up or gearing down! I keep baking for the neighbor's annual Christmas goodies and they keep disappearing before I get them on the plate! Who's doing that? (The shadow knows!) We saw The Lord of the Rings yesterday. WELL worth seeing. Even at 3 hours, it doesn't drag. I kept stretching way back to try to remember when I read the trilogy -- 30 years ago, maybe? That sounds too weird! The tree is breathtaking! I have to admit, it's the best one ever. Even MGDH (my grinchy dear husband) said it's beautiful. Have more to cook, more to wrap, more hugs to give. The last young'un will be HOME in less than 2 hours! Hope you are all well (and more organized than I)! Have a great weekend. It's a gift! Love, Sooner |
Well, I think I've stre t ched laziness and proctrastination as far as they can go. Time to get cracking on wrapping.
Yesterday I went to my WW weigh-in. Only up a couple of ounces which isn't bad considering what I've been nibbling on (Christmas baking :o ). Then to lunch with friend that I met right here in the henhouse...Tikki...who doesn't post very often but I think she still lurks when she has time). We're both trying to lose on WW but keeping carbs on the lower side. Well, we certainly failed yesterday at lunch. We each had a lovely, scrumptious mushroom burger with cheese AND fries WITH gravy and then shared a gorgeous apple crisp with ice cream. My blood sugar has had my head bouncing off the ceiling ever since and I've been on a carbo binge that has probably put my glucose levels off the chart. Today I'm trying to get back on track. So far so good except for one itsy, bitsy chocolate haystack cookie. I had another friend her for lunch and we had Denver omelettes and played a couple of hands of Cribbage. So far, so good putting off what still needs to be done around here, LOL. |
Happy Sunday!!!
Good Sunday morning to all!!
Just emerged from the shower, coffee is on, gotta get ready for church!! It is pouring rain outside not a great motivator, luckily it is in the high 30's low 40's or it would be freezing rain, yuk. Anyway, off to roust DS for Sunday school, hopefully we will have more success at church this week than last. Ithink I will wear pants!!!!(refer to stupid thinks thread!!!) Have a great day all!!! :dizzy: |
Morning Everyone! I have been MIA here on the board AND MIA on the diet front this last week! I stress ate, stress ate, stress ate! We just ran like dogs this last week---something to be at every night and my poor DS was stressing about his first week of High School finals and wanted me to help him study for them (which I did gladly) but it was just one of those weeks where the expression "the hurrier I go--the behinder I get" really fit. I did another STUPID thing and tried to top my bed of nails experience. On one of my insomnia nights, after stuffing Christmas letters in cards and cleaning up the kitchen I decided that maybe I could sleep for a couple of hours. As I stumbled through the dark back to my bedroom, I misjudged the turn in the hallway and managed to ram my eyebrow into the corner of the wall full speed. I now have a lovely multicolored eyelid that various colors of eye shadow manage to camoflage pretty well! :o My husband so sympathetically says to me after I tell him what I did--"What in the h#?! is the matter with you lately?" DUH, can we say maximum overload!
Anyway, school is finally out, finals over, Christmas cards mailed yesterday and I also finished up my shopping yesterday in the mall madness. Today I have about a million presents to wrap Tomorrow we take our dog to the kennel :( and then church in the evening. We spend Christmas Eve just the 3 of us (I love it) and then leave for WI on Christmas Day. This year Christmas Day is at DH's family's home with my 3 brother and sister in laws and their MANY children. They and my mother in law are all very Martha Stewart, so you can see I fit right in. :^: Then the 27th and 28th we are going to my folks and then home. Back to school the 3rd, but I do NOT want to think about that! Much love and many Christmas wishes to you all in case I don't get back to the board ahead of time!!!! |
