The Weekend - Dec 1 and Dec 2
How did that happen? All at once it's
DECEMBER!!!!!! Got two birthday cards yesterday when I braved the ice. My poor DD and her daughter have birthdays around Christmas. Doesn't seem fair, does it? Poor planning is genetic. Looks like a warm rainy day coming up. That should melt some of the darn ice off the world. I need to cover a few plants this weekend - just enough to say that I did put the garden to bed! The lad who was to bring us 12 bales of straw for The Stable last weekend delivered them on Wednesday - he had the date wrong! - so I am loaded with mulch. Luckily the people who brought the animals for the Bethlehem stable brought their own straw. Suzanne has posted about her problems upgrading our forum. Too bad we lost some of yesterday's stuff - we speak such words of wisdom! LOL! I hope today is better for her. If we go down again, just be patient and do something else nice for yourself as our Mother Hen suggests. Coffee and lists coming up. Good weekend, Chickies! |
Morning all...
Just thought I would come in for a minute and offer everyone a hot cup of coffee or LC cocoa. Mmmmmm
I intend to make this a good day. I am going to do one thing productive,.... one thing I have procrastinated about,.... one thing for someone else,..... and one thing that is special just for me. That should add up to a pretty darn good day. :D |
Good morning Ruthie...we are the only crazy ones up this early. I have a big test today for certification in my profession. I hope I do okay, but with a full-time job 2 kids and of course DH finding time to study has been kind of hard. We shall see!
Today is the BIG Tennessee vs. FL Gators game. GO VOLS!!!!! We are going to start decorating after I get home, my kids are driving us nuts about getting a tree and the outside lights up..but it has been in the 70's hard to get in the spirit....... I hope you all have a happy weekend!!! :dizzy: |
Good Morning Everyone !
Going to a wholesale club today to do some shopping. Blue skys so it looks good. Other than that nothing much on the agenda. Have a GREAT weekend. Love Leens |
Are you out of your jammies yet?

All these early birds !!! Or insomniacs???
Morning all! Thanks for the coffee, but I finished my pot off about 6 a.m. and on my third class of water! DH and DS got up at 2:30 to drive to the deer lease leaving me sleepless for the rest of the night. Thanks for the birthday wishes! Peach, I swear you should've been a writer! The mental picture of everyone with feathers and metal bras and boas lining up had me roaring! The sun is shining and I think we're going to have a dry but chilly day so I am MAKING myself get out of the house and do shopping! I must be nuts as I can't stand the crowds, but I'm in the mood to decorate and buy house stuff! I get away with spending more when dh isn't here anyway! hehehe Hope everyone has a great day! I'll check back in a bit later ! J PS-yes Ruth, I am! Are you??? |
Happy December Everyone!!!
I am like you Ruth I can't believe it IS December. I have been up since 5:00. My son went with a bunch of HS/JHS students to a university about an hour and a half away. The football and track coaches organized this. It is an all day seminar on weight lifting, conditioning and plyometrics. Wish I could have gone, I could use it more than my son can!!!! My day will be spent cleaning up my pigpen of a house and then maybe writing our Christmas letter for the Christmas cards. Sorry, I am one of THOSE people who puts out the mass produced note--just can't get around it with as many cards as we send.:o The sun is shining today and they has been uplifting, my DH is at work so I have Christmas music blaring while I work. He is MUCH better now, but when I was pregnant with our son I teased him that if it was a boy we would name it "Ebenezer" after his dad!!!:s: Hoping to soon find the motivation to get back on the diet/exercise train!! The mind is willing (until about 7:00 at night!!!) Mama J, Happy Belated Birthday to you!!! Hope you had a good celebration!! Leens, good luck with your shopping. Scooby2, hope your test goes well for you! 2cute, what a great plan for your day! Ruth, glad the ice is melting for you--I would rather have a ton of snow than try to drive on ice. It makes me crazy. Have a good weekend everyone and take care of yourself and your loved ones!! |
Merry Christmas! NOT! It's raining like you wouldn't believe! However, we did go and get our Christmas tree this morning, a gigantic fir that doesn't fit in our house!   Looks like we'll have to do some trimming.
Just flying in to say "Hi" and then go tackle my laundry! Ruth, is that puppy of yours home yet? |
I came in before and saw that my posts of yesterday were gone! I thought that Ruth was mad at me :o , until DD,Zookeeper, told me about the fourm problems!:D And, I DID say such profound statements too!;)
I did post something that I'll repeat because all women have to stand up for themselves! When we started having computer problems I started asking questions to DH who works with them daily! He can be such a jerk! He started acting impatient and got that "look" I love to hate. It's like I'm stupid for not knowing what he knows! Well, I stood up and looked straight into his face and asked him if he treats his colleagues like they are stupid if they are confused about his instructions! He got a sheepish look on his face. Hopefully, he will remember the incident the next time I ask a basic question about computers. The computer is recovering. I did lose some bookmarked links that I may never find. That will teach me to write down the ones I treasure. Well, I must feed my starving Brat and Tippy the cats. I'm getting that unblinking stare from both of them. Bye now and God bless! |
Zany Jany!
Did you see who posted nder "A message from Tippy"??? Yeah, it's our ZJ! I told her where to find us!
|
Just had to pop in and say The House is CLEAN:D It took all day yesterday, but I did it!!!!
Today I am trying to help my DS with Algebra--we both needed a break so I came here!:) Anyone of you an Algebra wizard---I am NOT a math person, and he seems to have taken after me in that department. Hard for me to argue when he says==I'll never use this! Tippy--good for you telling DH that--I have had that conversation with my own DH too. He is a manager and is always SOOOOO nice to his employees, even when they screw up--I told him it would be nice if he could treat his loved ones with the same courtesy. :^: (pretty much describes the look on his face. Have a good day everyone===back to the algebra torture!!! |
Happy Sunday!!!
Tippy, my DH does the same look!! I am afraid I do it to him on occasion to...yikes.. Took DS to church and Sunday school, then DH and I took both kiddies to the playground, he played with them while I walked around the track. It is a gorgeous day!!!! Take care and God bless! |
I thought I had posted on this thread already. I guess I'm one of the lost souls. :dizzy:
Tippy , you have my total, utter admiration for standing up to your DH. I have a similar problem in that I actually work for my DH from our home office. Sometimes when he's had a long, hard day at work and he's giving me instructions for the next day, he seems to think that I can read his mind and should understand what he's talking about with only a bit of information. When I look mystified I get that sneering "you moron" look and then a patronizing remark or two which really raises my tail feathers. By then the evening is usually unsalvagable and I've either walked off in a huff or disintegrated into tears. I've tried telling him that his demeaning remarks don't help the situation but he's so darned thick-headed. I really doubt that he will ever "get it". Good thing we get along pretty good when it's not work-involved but the discord in the office really does color my attitude toward him in the other part of our lives. By the way, he doesn't treat his employees with much sensitivity either so at least I'm not singled out. AddoAnnie I have done the mass mailing letter too for the past few years. WIth arthritis in my hands it's just too difficult to handwrite each card and letter and once you type a letter, you may as well make copies of it for everybody else seeing as our news is the same for everyone. I always try to add a personal note at the end of each one though. Pooky we've had a lot of rain here too..and WIND. The rain's not unusual for us on the Wet Coast but it's been raining for weeks now. The wind is kinda rare though. I just found out that our real estate agent is giving us a live Christmas tree this year and I can go and pick it out next Sunday. That works out well with my decorating plans as I like to have the house clean before decorating. If I decorate too early, then I have to clean around ornaments and decorations which is a royal pain in the you know what. MamaJ I have a feeling I missed your birthday. If so, belated birthday greetings to you. I hope you had a wonderful day. I don't know if I mentioned it but at my Friday weigh-in I finally lost the 2 -1/2 lb that I'd gained over the past few weeks. Now I'm working on "virgin" fat. :D Right now I have a large pot of low carb veggie soup simmering away. I find it really helps me get through a long afternoon if I can warm up with a cup of soup and it helps me sneak in a few extra vitamins too. Well, back to my Christmas card list. I even printed up labels for the envelopes. So much easier than hand writing every envelope. What a lazy old hen I am! :D |
Linda congrats on the loss, but "virgin fat" ? I hate to say it but there's nothing virginal about my fat!
|
Um, Pooky.... what have you been doing with your fat? LOL!
I know exactly what LindaBC means - fat that has never been lost! In my case it's fat that was put on back when I was a virgin so it's really, really old fat. LOL! What's the opposite of Virgin? Is that the name for the other kind of fat? ROFLOLPIMP |
