  • I'm starting this early (it's still Wednesday here but very late) because I want to warn all you Chicks that if you get an e-mail from me, PLEASE DO NOT OPEN IT. My address book has contracted a Virus called W32.Badtrans.Bvirus and it has been sending bad transmissions to everybody on my mailing list, even people I don't even know!! I had even done the anti-virus thing that Ruth mentioned because I had heard about it several weeks ago but it didn't help. I didn't have an anti-virus program installed, but I do now and tomorrow I will be getting somebody in to help me clean up this mess. I'm very sorry if anybody has been infected by e-mails from my address.

  • Poor LindaBC!
Worms are bad things. I hope the mess is not too bad. My ISP does a check on all my incoming mail so stuff is intercepted. You might want to check them out before buying an anti-virus programme which will have to be updated rregularly.

Still cold and gray here today but we have been using the woodstove in the back room which makes things very cozy. It is too cozy, in fact! I had great plans for wrapping all afternoon yesterday and ended up napping the afternoon away! Am still feeling crappy but had an excellent night of sleep - just up now - so today is the turning point! DH just in formed me that we had freezing rain last night! Oh joy!

On the bright side, I don't have to go out with a dog this morning! Hershey is probably coming home after the weekend. Right now she is thin and completely exhausted from feeding those voracious puppies and only feeds them at bedtime. (She just goes into the pen, stands there for a bit and then leaves.) I think she just stays long enough to relieve the boob pressure. Morna has cut back drastically on her food to get milk production to stop and Hershey claims she is absolutely starving! She has gone from eating 24 hours a day to a "normal" diet. I'm sure we can all relate!

Today is the day King Herod ditches the beard. I have been trying to get him to keep it but he claims the itching is driving him nuts! Too bad because it looks pretty distinguished when he is not scratching it!

Canadian bacon and scrambled eggs coming up - want some? I still find a breakfast like that keeps me going well past noon.

    Happy Thursday
  • Good Morning All,

Ruthie what time is breakfast, I'll bring the coffee cake lol.

Its rainy and gloomy here in NJ today, I think I'll stay in my jamies all day. Other than that nothing much on the agenda.......got my monthly friend so I'm feeling kinda lazy, headachey and sleepy today.
Have a wonderful day all !!!!!!!!!!

    Love, Leens
  • Good Morning!

Rainy & gloomy here in Houston as well. Only working half a day today so I can get last minute things done for my long weekend to New York City. Mani/pedi, eyebrow wax - girley stuff. May also buy a coat since last year's is too big, but I may just wait till I get to NY to buy one. My size 4 boss, who I outweigh by at least 20 lbs, is going to bring me hers so I'll see if I can squeeeeze myself into it without busting too many seams.

    Have a great day!

  • Today I get to have a root canal! Doesn't that sound like a ball! Weeks ago I went in with a hairline fracture. I was fitted for a crown, had a temp put on and dealt with the worst mouth pain since before I had my wisdom teeth removed (13 years ago). Two weeks with temps and then I got my permanent crown. He adheared it with temporary cement to make sure the pain went away. Well, it hasn't gone away. It still hurts like **** ! So, today they are just going to do the root canal. Good thing there was temp cement put on the crown. I'm thinking that the original hairline fracture was worse than orginally thought and when he shorten my tooth it made it that much worse. But, at least I'll be able to enjoy a nice piece of meat on that side of my mouth! LOL!!

Ruth, congrats on Hershey's return! I'm sure she'll be happy to be home.

I hope everyone has a great day!

  • Hi,

    Forgot to post this earlier

I have a confession/brag. Confession: I bought 4 boxes of candy, a tub of gourmet cookie dough, a can of chocolate covered peanuts & a can of spicy crunchy stuff from various co-workers' kids. I kept it all in a drawer in my office & planned a vacation day next month to stay home & binge & purge (as some of you know I have been struggling with bulimia). I have barely been able to think about anything else. Brag: Last night I realized how ridiculous my plan was and at 8:00 I came back to my office, put all the stuff in a bag & threw it away in the dumpster of an apartment complex across the street from my office. I was upset because I was really looking forward to it, but I was also proud of myself.

Thanks to all of you for your support.

    Hugs,
    Jennifer

PS - My boss' size small coat fits. Yay!!

Jenni - good luck with your root canal. Hope it's not too awful.
  • Morning Everyone--It is cold and gray and gloomy here too, but at least no rain or snow. Parts of Minnesota got like 29 inches of snow in one day. I have Xmas music playing here in my classroom--flute and piano--very soothing. The kids are working away on a project and it is quiet!!! That doesn't happen very often with 31 kids. I thought I would sneak in 5 minutes on the puter. We are trying to get things back to as normal as possible at home. My son has had had 2 games and last night they beat a team they have never beaten before. That was neat. Their coach said it reminded him of the movie "Hoosiers". It was a freshmen only game--we had six kids---they had 12, half of which were about 6'2" or over. The coach said that he could see that the other team was kind of laughing at our puny six guys, but they weren't laughing when they left!! Our kids needed a little boost after everything lately. I noticed last night that all of the boys on the team had written in black marker on their basketball shoes --"In memory of TKB" that is the girl's initials. I thought that that was a sweet gesture. Trying to get back into the diet mode after Thanksgiving gluttony!!! Lots of water!!!

Jennifer--you have the right to brag---great job there!!! Have fun on your trip--sure sounds like fun.

Jenni--good luck with your root canal--OUCH!!

Ruth, napping the afternoon away sounds wonderful to me!! So does the breakfast!!! YUM!

Linda, sorry to hear about your computer worm. That is always such an ordeal. Good luck with it.

Hello to Leens and all that follow--have a good day everyone!!!
  • Just a note to Jenni to congratulate you on fitting into that teensy-weensy coat. You must be so proud.
Also, even bigger congrats on a victory over your bulemia demon
. I know how difficult it must have been for you to do what you did. All the little mental conversations pro and against, all the pumping up, all the pulling down. It must have been hard, hard HARD! Big (((((hugs to Jenni))))) for having the guts to fight back.
Ruth, have you ever had any diagnosis on your latest tests? Any reason why you're feeling so out of it these days. You've really got me worried, girl. Good news about poor, scrawny Hershey though. Having her back will perk you right up.
Pooky you mentioned painting projects for gifts. I've been doing some decorative painting too (a couple of wooden trays) and wondered what your projects are. I'm not very good and feel embarrassed when I see some of the stuff the pros do but what the heck. People don't have to display my stuff if they really hate it.
