Hi everybody. TRying to catch up on everyone's doings.
Ruth I've never taken one of those treadmill tests but I'm sure I'd flunk too. Even though I vowed I was going to keep up my walking after my return from Scotland, I've actually only gone out twice. It has been pouring rain or horribly windy every other day (well almost every other day. Other times I've been sidetracked). Now that I've been diagnosed with high blood pressure, it's even more important for me to get in shape. How about we keep tabs on each other's walking progress? Tomorrow morning I do the pool, but on Saturday I'm going to walk for 30 minutes rain, shine or snow (EEK! Who mentioned SNOW?) By the way, I just read in the paper that some smart company is now selling metal-free bras at airports (replaced the underwire with something else). Something to keep in mind the next time you fly. Not sure if that metal bra of yours could pass inspection.
Pooky so sorry you were ill. My older daughter had something like that. It knocked her right off the planet for a couple of days. Then she went back to work too early and had a relapse so you take care. Don't try to do too much.
Hi to everyone else. Hope you don't get the snow. We've been having major monsoons...not cold, just darned WET. We also had a couple of days of high winds which blew over a few trellises in my garden and knocked out the power for an hour or two. I'm thoroughly sick of this rotten weather and want to see some sunshine for a change.
Today I had to bring in my satellite access card to have it reprogrammed. Looks like something wrong with the system again. It's a major hassle to reconnect the big tv in the family room to cable without someone to hold the darned thing up while I struggle to attach the cable. Why don't the manufacturers (ALL MEN I BET) make the cable connections in the front or at least the side where people can see them. You get a huge tv in a wall unit and there are a gazzillion cords and wires in the back to stereos and vcrs, etc, and it's a nightmare to change anything back there. So, to save myself a headache (with DH out of town) I went and bought myself a little tv for the guest bedroom where I do my crafts and hooked it up to the cable outlet in there. I had an old (25 years) 20 inch tv in there but it was really on its last legs. No matter what channel I pressed it always went back to channel 8 immediately. Now I can watch the hockey games without interrupting his blood and guts thrillers or wrestling.
Tomorrow morning is my WW weigh-in. I've been REALLY REALLY good all week so I sure hope to see some results. Even though my doctor was pleased with my 18 pound loss since June, I'd sure like to see the pounds melt away a little faster. Heck, glaciers melt faster than my fat!
