I lost weight by tracking my calories and exercising ,moistly running outside.I am happy where i am . I am now maintaining my weight by regular exercise and watching my portion sizes. It took me 9 months to lose all the weight since it was a gradual weight loss

Here is a before and after pic.guess how many pounds i lost .I will reveal the exact number at the end

15 to 20 pounds???? I'm never good at guessing so hope you don't take it wrong.. This is a question most people want touch because if it wasn't that much you could take it hurtful.. You look Awesome!! :bravo:

It definitely depends, I've seen pictures of people who are more trim and weigh more than their beginner photos. I would guess 15 lbs but whatever it is, obviously you have done great :)

You didn't say how tall you are! A 10-pound loss on someone 5' tall could look like I don't know, maybe 40 pounds or even more on someone 6' tall...

I am 5'6" and at my height, I would be around 145-150 pounds to look like your first photo (though actually I think you are much younger - I was more "love-handle"-y and had more rolls overall). I would have to weigh around 130 pounds or less to look like your second photo (my goal!).

Whatever - you look fantastic and should be very proud of yourself. Why don't you just tell people what you weigh and how you lost weight and post in the Goal or the Featherweights section?

:congrat: :yay:

It is absolutely impossible to tell. You might have lost zero pounds, just built muscle. You could have lost 10 pounds or 40 pounds. The actual pounds are irrelevant and meaningless.

You actually gained 5lbs? I dunno, it's really impossible to know. Some people can weigh more than they actually look.

This.

Does it really matter? You look great. Well done.

It's very easy to tell, on the before picture, she clearly has a lot of fat on her thigh, belly and love handle area. I am not even mentioning boobs and arms.

On the after picture the difference is huge. Shed toned up a lot, burned a ton of fat. And women can't gain muscles incredibly fast, so I'm pretty sure that muscle gains are in the 0.1 lbs - 0.8 lb range. Everything else is just melted fat.

Nope - you cannot tell at all except she looks great and that she's changed her body composition. Here's some images for you:

She said the weight loss happened over a year. I've definitely seen similar pictures where someone's before picture weighed less than their after picture. But it depends and she didn't indicate any weight lifting which is why I'd guess it is a loss rather than staying the same weight/gaining weight.

Spoiler Alert!

If you want to know how much the OP lost (not sure if she is coming back here or not...), HERE is her weight loss

(and FYI she is 5'3")

:D

I am 5`3 lbs.Thank you everyone for your answers. I know its hard to tell from those pics but I was around 145 lbs in the before pic.I actually started at 150 lbs. I carry most of my weight in my butt and thinghs. In the after pic I weigh 125 lbs .My butt was so big but it got smaller .I still have butt and thighs but not as big as before

I also have another question. Instead of me making a new thread I decided update in this thread.

What do you guys consider skinny?
I am 5`3 and I weight 120 to 125 lbs.I am happy where I am but I have had people say I am skinny now. This lady who is heavier than me even called me too skinny which kind of bothered me.I know I should ignore the comments but sometimes I question if my weight is too low.

Have you tried the "Halls MD BMI calculator"? Sorry I'm on my IPad so I don't know how to link to it here... But if you google it, I'm sure it would come up... It gives you an idea of how your weight compares with other women your age... personally, I like it...

ETA: and personally, I believe a BMI of under 20 to be "skinny"... very skinny actually... even if it is still in the "normal" range...
