What salon treatments do you do?

What do you do in salons versus what you do yourself at home?

Haircut and highlights (once every 5 months)
Pedicure (every 3 weeks in the summer months)
Eyebrow threading (every 3 weeks)
Lip wax (every 6 weeks)
Massage (every 2 months)
Facial (once or twice a year, wish it could be more!)

Myself at home:
Pedicure (in the winter)
Facials

Coffeelover64 09-14-2014 07:36 PM

Haircut - every 8 weeks
Highlights - 2x per year
Pedicure - monthy
Facial - just whenever I think I need it

Manicure - about 2x per week at home

VioletDolphin83 09-14-2014 08:44 PM

At the salon:
Hair colour for regrowth - every 2 months
Hair cut - every 4 months because I'm growing it

At home:
Facials - on most days
Manicure - once a week

luckymommy 09-15-2014 08:47 AM

Salon:
haircut every 3 months or so
Highlights every 4 months or so
facial, maybe 1 or 2 a year
Pedicure, 1 a month in the summer, every 6 weeks in winter

At home:
Manicure, about 1 every week or two.

You girls know how to pamper yourselves! I would love to get something regular going but don't do anything at the moment. Massage would be nice.

I'm growing out my hair...the grey is really crazy up top now and I'm considering having it dyed but scared to start that. Also, my hair isn't all that thick so I'm afraid coloring it will make it worse.

I do microdermabrasion every 6-8 weeks.
Botox on my forehead and 11's (bridge of nose) every 4-6 months.
I get a haircut about once a year but right now it's been like 15 months. I hate going to the hair salon. It's a kind of phobia from my childhood. My hair looks like crap. I keep it in a ponytail.
I do my hair coloring and nails myself.

Cool mom- as long as you aren't bleaching your hair coloring makes your hair shaft thicker. So I see you have brown hair by your photo, as long as you don't go blonde you hair condition will be fine. Try semi-permanent types at first. They wash out in 28 times.

InATizzy, I have been considering the semi-perm color since I recently learned about it. It sounds perfect! Then I ran into a co-worker who said she had been dying her grey for years and her hair started falling out. I don't know the two are related but it scared me.

I'm going to try it though, after my hair grows out a bit more.

I colour my hair at home, once a month or every two months (depending on colour).
I get a pedicure once a season (sometimes will change the colour at home).
I do manicures at home about once or twice a week.
I tweeze the stray hairs as needed.
Facial treatments as needed. Once a week deep moisturizer, and mask (at home)

Gosh, hardly anything anymore! I get a pedicure a few times a year (primarily at the start of summer), and usually get my nails done when I go for a pedicure. Otherwise I do that at home and I typically only do my nails when I have an important event.

Hair is probably once every 6 months or less if I can afford it. I did my last trim myself because I'm broke! I love my hairstylist but she's pricey. Wouldn't dream of going elsewhere though. I color my hair with henna a few times in the winter, otherwise no color.

I might get a massage once every year or two. Depends on if the boyfriend is feeling like treating me on Valentine's Day LOL

Eyebrows done by me! They don't need much taming.

Salon every 6-7 weeks for cut and color. I'm really fretting over continuing the color (deep reddish brown), though - I have a truly fabulous head of thick, incredibly white hair at 47. Between the cost and the time and the chemicals, I'm having trouble remembering why I color it.

Pedicures about twice a year with my girlfriends when one of us finally hits a breaking point - between the 3 of us we have 5 boys between 13 and 15!

Massages - once or twice a month; the woman I see is a myofascial release specialist and probably shouldn't fall into the category of self-pampering because it's more like the chiropractor. :D

I forgot - my eyebrows. They don't need tweezing but they are blonde. I started dying them about 6 months ago. It's the best thing I've ever done. No more eye pencils.
If you're blonde, try it!

My eyebrows are very light too and I've considered this but is it safe? I'm afraid of the dye near my eyes. And does it grow out or wash out?

Manicure once a week
Pedicure every other week
Haircut every 3 or 4 months

I think this is a lot... i have NO patience with salons...

muguet 09-17-2014 04:58 PM

I love going to salons~!

Manicure: once every few months to clean my nails up
Pedicure: once a year, start of summer
Eyebrow and upper lip threading: once a month
Haircuts: Once every 2 months in the summer, once every 3-4 months in the winter

At home:
Manicure once a week, pedicure when the colour chips.
Eyebrow tweezing every other day
Facials

wannabe skinny- dying eyebrows is relatively safe...as long as you're not reckless. I bought a kit from amazon, but Sally's and other beauty supply stores sell them. You mix the powder with the cream. Just a small amount and brush on eyebrows- go in each direction try to coat the hair on both sides. Leave on for 2 mins. Then wipe off with a cloth and then wash your skin.
It lasts about 2-3 weeks. I guess it fades.
I'm going to a wedding on the 26th, so I'll probably dye them 5-6 days before just in case they come out too dark.
