abercrombie and fitch is offering plus sizes

According to the news abercrombie has finally decided to offer plus size clothes. They havent said yet if it will be online or in stores but at least its a step in the right direction.

I know we should support this sort of positive developments for plus-size people and, yet, part of me feels as though it's not going to be so easy forgive the BS their CEO spouted. More because I have heard the stories of FAR too many women who, entering those stores for whatever reason, were sought out and point-blank told by workers that their size was not carried. (Latest one, a student last week who brought it up while we were discussing body image.) It seems to me like there has been a lot of body-elitism supported by a&f, perhaps from the top down.

For Plus sizes I recommend Eileen Fisher. She supports women' business around the world and carries organic clothing produced in a sensible way. She offers recycling programs and her clothes can be purchased on Ebay if too expensive new. I rather give my money to a company that believes in what they say rather than to one in it for profit only.

I will never buy Abercrombie and Fitch or Lululemon products. Adding plus size items does not change my view of them.

The largest jeans size they sell is a size 10 -.- I have to wonder what their definition of "plus sizes" will be.

Screw Abercrombie; even if I was still plus sized, I wouldn't shop there simply because their clothes are too dang expensive.

I'll stick to American Eagle if I want name-brand mall store clothes. :D

I used to wear a size 38W jeans. I now wear a size 2.

At no time in my life have I paid more than $20 for a pair of jeans. So that store will never get my business. Add to that the way the CEO spoke about women in general and basically equated their value as human beings with their jean size???
