I believe Silverfire mentioned the Makeupgeek website....Marlena is fantastic and her tutorials are great! I also highly recommend Gossmakeupartist, he is phenomenal, a true makeup genius! Hope you'll check them both out. You'll learn a lot about makeup and how to apply it without looking like a circus clown! As for the Urban Decay eyeliner pencils....I personally feel the Milani Liquifeye pencils are equally as good and they're about $6-$8 depending where you buy them. My CVS & Walmart both carry Milani. You could probably find them online or even on Ebay and should be able to get a good deal on them. I even use them on my waterline and have never had any issues with them lasting or irritating my eyes. I have an Urban Decay 24/7 pencil in a purple shade but, seldom use it because it didn't seem to last as long as the Milani. The Milani Liquifeye pencils are very creamy and go on smoothly with no tugging. That being said, I really enjoy the Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips gel liners applied with a bent eyeliner brush. The L'oreal Infalliable gel liners are excellent as well as $3 Wet n Wild black gel liner which has been compared to MAC Fluidline Blacktrak |

Hey, avalonmoon, just to let you know, UD items are usually excluded from Ulta coupons.
However, even at full price, they are absolutely worth it! They're all I use. Their newest black is amazing (Perversion) and the brown I've tried is solid, and not sparkly (Demolition). Some of the colors are super sparkly/shimmery, so you may want to swatch them on your hand to see. I don't know if you line your waterline or not, but these stay on there too, without irritating your eyes. Urban Decay also makes their own pencil sharpener, which can be used with both their liners and eyeshadow pencils. (Can you tell I love Urban Decay products?) I also second/third/fourth the recommendation of Makeup Geek. I've learned SO much from Marlena's tutorials! Not only about different ways to apply makeup, but which brands are generally better quality, etc. I haven't used any of her eye products, but her lipsticks are GORGEOUS. |

Kim, I will check those sites out. Thank you for the great advice too. I do like the Milani I've used, I believe Walgreens carries them. Kmart does too but the options run low. Guess I'll have a lot to check into now. Thanks for all the recommendations. |

Penmage, I'm a girl who loves colors and the UD line does really offer a lot to chose from.. I'm going to try and get some from them and look into the ones Kim mentioned as well. I have a few worthless ones in my collection. I have pretty colors from wet n wild but sharpening them, ghey disintegrate.. ugh. I'll look for those colors. Yes, at times I do line my waterline. There's something as well I wanna do, never been able to get it to work, that's get falsies to adhere to my lids..I'm not girlie enough I guess. lol |

Avalonmoon,
Here is a video from Emilynoel83, a Youtube guru I've been following for years showing drugstore dupes for some high end products. I really enjoy her videos. This one is very informative, I think you'll enjoy it :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAZBoHw1aYI Here is her review of the Milani Liquifeye as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReRY0eRKhR0 |
I went to Ulta and bought 3 starter liners from Urban Decay. I bought bright colors and then bought a few NYX too. When we have more money I'm going to build my UD supply up. Thanks so much ladies for being my 'cosmetic whisperers'.;)

Hi everyone. Fellow makeup junkie here. =)
Avalon moon - I love Urban Decay shadows, liners and primer. Good products, lots of pigment in the shadows and the liner sticks are super user-friendly. Sometimes they smudge if one is prone to oily skin (me) so I use a primer. I don't get spendy with too much anymore, Almay Smart Shade foundation, Maybelline powder-bronzer-blush-mascara. From there it gets a little pricier. Mac eyebrow pencil and eyeliner, Urban Decay primer and shadow. Sometimes I use a Nars blush/bronzer set that I received as a gift, but I feel like for that much money, it's only for special occasions or pick-me-ups. Chickie Boom & the shiv & anyone else who mentioned. Amazon and eBay are where it's at! Such great deals to be found, and lately, the only way I can afford to indulge myself is when I see sales on my wishlist. Cheers to online sales. Happy shopping girls =) |
I'm makeup-challenged & do well to get my mascara on my lashes, not my forehead. But before you go shopping, look through this site a bit!

avalonmoon- I hope you're enjoying your Urban Decay liners! They're definitely my favourite brand. Just thought I'd pop in to say that they often do box sets with a variety of colours in half sized pencils, which is a great way to try a lot of their awesome colours without having to pay a lot of money.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this (unless they did and I didn't see it. :p )...E.L.F.!! It's a brand sold at Target and online at eyeslipsface.com
I'm addicted to them, and it's sooo cheap! I think most of their products are high end dupes. I would read reviews before you buy the product, but so the only thing I've purchased that I didn't like was the essentials pressed powder. It was orangey. I just placed an order today, they have 50% off of their studio line. :D and I can vouch for the studio brushes, they're really decent. Anyhoo. I'm a big time makeup junkie. :) I love high end, drugstore, whatever. i love trying everything and experimenting, which is where the drugstore or cheap makeup comes in. I will invest in a good foundation/powder though. And mascara, gotta have a good mascara. |
