Default Your Hair Style and the Gym, Enemies FOREVER!!

Ok, so one of my excuses for not going to the gym some times (in the past, I dont use it anymore) is, "I have to take a shower after the gym, showering every day is going to dry out my hair. THEN I have to use the curling iron/curlers to get it how I want it."

How do you combat sweaty gym hair?

I tend to work out in the evening, so I shower before bed and just do my hair again in the morning.

I don't wash my hair everyday. I wear hair bands around my head to try to combat the sweat and put my hair in a ponytail. I wear my hair pulled up in different braided styles or up styles that are a little more fancy so I'm not using my flat iron every day. You just have to decide what's more important. I had to tell myself that there was no point having a cute hairstyle when my body was a mess.

I have curly/kinky hair that I don't straighten. So I put my hair into a high bun when working out. After working out I rinse with water, add a little product, put it in a braid or just let it air dry (more in the summer months).

In the immortal words of lil Wayne "Long hair, Dont Care"

But if we all cant be like him, then i would cut it a little shorter. or try just running water through and not using soap to just get the sweat out. The heat of the hot iron will kill most of the germs and smells.

Try some sulfate free cleanser. I used the one from L'Oreal, i think it's ever strong sulfate free (the green big tube). Also try to use hair butter twice a week. All tips i learn r from the Curly girl method

@ krampus:
I have dark ahir and for some reason dry shampoo makes my hair look white. How do you avoid this with dark hair?

I just wash my hair that night and brush it through while touching it up with a flat iron. Not that big of a deal, really

i keep my hair fairly short and layered/textured...in the morning i dont wash it, i just stuff it in a beanie cap and go to work then i hit the gym later in the morning, come home and wash it, fluff it up with some gel and air dry....go back to work for the rest of the day...

ive never been one to have the time/desire to do alot with my hair anyhow...and i like it short

Now that I will be working out at home (we are moving and having a home gym put in the finished basement) I can work out at night and have my hair done and not have to worry about it

I'm a hairstylist and I Have a color that I can only wash 2 times a week or id loose it so fast. Sooooo this is my normal week for hair care. Now I don't get abnormally oily so this is a helpful fact for me.

I wash (let it air dry if i have nothing to do) then next day let's say I run, well I will blow dry my hair after, style it an what not. If its rest day I'm good, then the next another work out day, if my style can be salvaged I'll wear it down, if not it's in a high knot for the next 2 days, then I wash and repeat the cycle, sometimes I use dry shampoo sometimes not. But it's totally a hairstylist trait to go lax on the shampooing and care of her own hair. Trust me there's tons of memes out there about it.

You have to brush it thru your hair, the powder in it is what's white and brushing it allows it to move and soak up all oils
