Bathing Suits for Small Cups
I just ordered a bathing suit for water aerobics. It's super cute and has a skirt, but the top is HUGE on me. It's definitely designed for larger ladies with a DD or above. I'm a 42C with a smaller ribcage than my hips, typical pear shape (size 30 hips, size 22 top).
I ended up stitching the V-neck closed a bit so it doesn't look obscene (I was falling out of it), but my girls keep falling *below* the cups, making me look flat-chested and weirdly-shaped. Plus the cups look funny since they aren't full. They're laying on top of my girls, if that makes sense. I thought about trying to stitch the cups smaller to fit, but ugh... no. Too much work. Can anyone recommend a place that sells one-piece bathing suits that will fit better, or at least have some kind of custom/adjustable top? I'd like to stay away from tankinis if possible. Thanks! |
Actually, it sounds like your band size is way too big. What does your underbust measure as (pull the measuring tape tightly!! )? If your breasts are falling out below your suit then you need a much tighter band (especially if you want to do water aerobics!!!).
I know that Elomi (plus/sized lingerie company) is coming out with bathing suits in March and knowing how beautiful their bras are, I'm sure that they suits will be amazing too. I believe they start at D cups BUT if you go down a band size (or two, or three.. because it sounds like your band is way too big on you) then you'll need to go up a cup size or more. (the volume of a 42C up is equal to that of 40D, which is equal to 38DD and so on). |
The bathing suit I ordered didn't give me a band size option. I'm hoping to find some companies who do. :)

Ok, check out the resources page on my blog. It looks like there are a number of brands that carry swimsuits by bra sizes in 42C. The ones that I found were Fantasie (barenecessities) and Triumph (on figleaves) and I'm sure more websites have a wider option.
Personally, I'd recommend Fantasie. They really do sell quality bras/swimwear (I actually own a swim suit from them). Here's one that they carry in 40D (I couldn't find anything in 42C but 40D would have the same volume and it's always get to get a tight fit in swimwear to prevent any accidents). http://scene.barenecessities.com.edg...il-168x196$%7d |
That's a good point about the tight fit. I always order a size down in swimwear and underwear because I want it to be like a second skin.
Thanks for the recommendations! :) |
