Bravissimo is madly overpriced, there are far better alternatives if you want to order from the UK. Brastop is one, Natural Figures is another. I usually get underwired bras from eBay, where there are several highly reputable shops (don't worry, I'm not talking about dodgy second-hand bras here). Although the Bravissimo website is worth a look for its fitting advice, which is excellent. Panache is a great brand for the more generously-bosomed.
It is certainly possible to wear non-wired bras and still look decent if you're over a D cup! I gave up on underwired bras a few years ago as they're just too uncomfortable when you have to spend most of your day in bed as I do. Because of the lying down issue, I do best with the highly stretchy bras sold as maternity bras, such as the Fertile Mind Superbra or the Bravado Body Silk. Really comfortable, surprisingly good support, allow reasonably low necklines (especially the Bravado), and will see you through a number of sizes while you're losing weight. I think I was a 34F or G when I started, and am now down to a 32E (UK sizes). I was a 32DD before I put on weight.
