NYC - Where to shop?!
I've recently realized that most of my clothes are from Old Navy and I need to start switching up my wardrobe. I don't want to wait until I'm done losing the weight to look good!
Not that Old Navy stuff can't look nice but I'm looking for a bit more variety. I've tried Lane Bryant/Marshalls/TJ Maxx and I'm hitting up Re/Dress tomorrow. I've done some online shopping but it's a pain because I need to get things shipped to my office (packages can't be left at my apartment) and honestly I'd rather try things on. Do any of you Manhattan or Brooklyn ladies have any other suggestions of places to shop? I'm a 14/16 so stores with extended sizes that aren't exclusively plus size can work for me too. I tend to wear jeans and cute, casual but sophisticated tops, but I'm looking to add some skirts and dresses to the mix as well. Looking forward to your suggestions! |
Forever 21 has both regular and plus sizes (and I'm betting the plus selection in the Manhattan store is bigger than other stores) but only certain stores have the plus line, so you might want to check that out. Depending on how your weight is distributed though you might fit into some of the regular stuff just fine :) So you can try that on too. Their stuff is really cute!
There are some other stores I like to head out to, but they're on Long Island so I'm not sure if you want to venture out that way (I checked, but there aren't any locations in Manhattan/Brooklyn). |

There are some "plus-size" consignment shops ( I actually just mentioned re/dress and then I went back to check your OP and see that you're already going there!). In a 14/16 if you want to go the way of chain stores there are a number of Ann Taylor (Loft) stores, Gap has that size too. Is there a certain style you're looking for? |
