Oooh, role-playing. Getting into character. What fun. I'm suggesting that you ....
... Watch RuPaul's Drag Race on cable TV & note what the drag queens are wearing for their performances. They definitely go for girly-girl. ... Make a study of Disney princess characters & the accessories they are used on. So yeah, they're also imaginary characters, but Disney is really good at suggesting girly-girl. .... Look at some pictures of Japanese girls & their stylings. They are definitely riffing on the girly thing. .... Try something neo-Victorian. Up-do, lace, cameo pins, skirts, nipped-in waist, Stevie Nicks kind of boots, floaty romanticism. This look offers a way to look girly without looking positively infantile or like a Lolita. (Unless that's actually your aim.) |
I am a through and through jeans and t-shirt girl! I have also wanted to look more girly and put together, so I have started wearing jeans (of course) with pretty, figure flattering shirts, blouses, layered t's, etc. And accessorizing with chunky belts or necklaces and bracelets and cute shoes (preferably heals).
I also like shorter jean skirts with cute hoodies or t's and funky sandals! I personally don't polish my nails as I don't like it. and it takes a lot of maintanence. But I do totally agree with all the ladies who are recommending perfume or yummy lotions - scents will make you feel girly! I just strongly recomend staying within your comfort zone or you won't be happy. Stretch your zone, but not so far that you will be uncomfortable! |
