It's to the point where I'm thinking I need some new underwear. I usually wear Lane Bryant underwear in the size 18/20. They are starting to get big but don't know if the 14/16 would be to small. They are pricey so I don't want to spend a lot of money and have them not fit. Also, how would one determine the number size, like 7, 8, 9 ect and knowing if they will fit or not? Thanks!

Ask one of the associates there. Know your hip measurement and there should be a sizing guide available.

Underwear is tricky!

I'm in a 14/16 pants and I wear size 8 underwear or XL at American Eagle (love their undies now that I can fit em!). I have some size 9's that just look silly. I have a lot of junk in my trunk.

In underwear:

5-S
6-M
7-L
8-XL
9-XXL or 1X in plus size
10-2X
11-3X

In Lane Brayant sizing, their 14/16 plus size is equivalent to a size 9 panty.

If their 18/20's are too big, the 14/16's will fit you JUST FINE. My favorites for a long, long time were the Lane Bryant cotton hipsters and cotton thongs!

My theory is to buy one pair of the smaller size, and so long as I keep shrinking, they'll fit eventually!

I haven't had to switch yet. I wear 12's in jeans now and my underwear are 7's and 8's. I guess I'll buy 6's next but I don't need to do that quite yet. I just get mine as Walmart. Fruit of the Loom is good enough.
