On another board I read about this fabulous stuff called "Magic Powder" -- it's actually a powder made for African-American men to remove facial hair. It costs about $4 for the can, and you use a teaspoon or two every time. You can find it in the shaving section of the drugstore, generally.

It works great. I actually don't know if Nair stinks, but I've read that it does -- this stuff doesn't. You mix a teaspoon of MP with a teaspoon of water, apply the paste to whatever area needs to be hair free, leave on for 6-8 minutes (but NO MORE -- it will start to burn after that), then scrape off with a credit card or a plastic spoon.

Spending 10 minutes in my own bathroom doing this was *heck* of a lot less painful than the waxing I got, which made me cry. (How dignified in an adult woman, eh?) Also, given that it's $4 for the canister, and you get a ton of uses out of it, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than waxings and touch-ups.

FYI!

Okay, I know this is some serious thread necromancy on my behalf here, but I'm too curious not to ask!
Has anybody else tried the magic shaving powder? It's so cheap, I'm going to pick up a can and give it a go myself. I read a little more on makeupalley, and it seems better than nair in terms of sensitivity. So here's hoping!!!

(And omg if this works I'll be forever indebted to you Dianeofnka.)

Once I started waxing Brazilian, I never went back. But the growth period in between wasn't very fun. Not when you get used to having no hair there.

I opted for laser hair removal (full Brazilian) and found a Groupon deal in my area. Best thing ever!!!! I have had 2 sessions and am already 90% hair free!
