Fabrics - polyester vs cotton?

Has anyone noticed how many of the dressy tops and dresses are made with a polyester or synthetic fabric? I find this type of cloth to be uncomfortable in hot weather, because it doesn't "wick away" perspiration. I don't perspire heavily, but an hour of walking around on a hot day gives me that uncomfortable damp feeling.:hot:

Cotton is a much more comfortable fabric to wear, but the selection of styles is much less. Also, cotton tends to crease, shrink, or lose its shape. What we need is a "synthetic cotton" with the advantages of polyester and the "wicking" qualities of cotton.

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Cotton blends. My favorite shirts are cotton with a bit of lycra or poly. Keeps them from making me look like an unmade bed :) but still keeps the coolness of cotton.

Thanks! I'll look a bit closer at the labels to see what the fabric is. It makes sense - the addition of the synthetic makes the cotton keep its shape.

I like rayon, and linen/poly blends, with at least a 50/50 mix of linen.

Rayon can be woven into some pretty, more formal looking fabrics. Good luck finding them. :(
