Items to carry food in whilst on the go...

Sorry for the title, even to me it seems a little vague!

So, I'm not wondering about clothes, food or health products... I'm actually wondering if something exists that I could carry my food in when I'm on the go. When I go to work I take my whole lunch and snacks with me in my gym bag, so that's not the issue. It's more that I'm close to home, but could be distracted/ tempted to go off plan whilst I'm just running errands in the weekend.

For example, I go out with my family on a Saturday and I want to take a little baggie of carrots and celery with me - I could put this stuff in my purse, but it tends to leak or get warm and warm carrots and celery isn't appealing to me.

So is there actually a sort of "cooler" product that is like a ziplock, that could go in my purse and not destroy all of the contents?

Does my question make any sense at all?

TIA for any responses!

Hiya Velveteen! Are you still having a cold snap in Arnhem? Last time I talked to my family, they were aching for some springtime weather. :)

On another thread somewhere, people were talking about this website. They have some nice small bags too, that might fit in your purse, or maybe even be stylish enough to carry on their own. :0

It's *finally* starting to warm up here! I have been bugging my DF to do some maintenance on my bicycle so I can start cycling to and from the train station :)

I will definitely check out the link - thanks for the tip!

I have the "Built NY" bags and they are real nice, they are made of Neoprene (sp). I bought them for when my daughter was using bottles still. I have 1 for bottles and I bought one of the "lunch bag" styles. I like them BOTH. But they are not cheap!

I bought the "dots" Built NY bag!! I'm so excited! Thanks again Jennifer for the link!

And can you believe it, only $6.95 for international shipping! I tried to buy a belt just now from Torrid - the belt was $20 and they wanted to charge $30 for shipping! EEK! Forget it!

Hopefully my new reusable bag will be the perfect solution for me!

It's not a bag, but if there's interest I bought via Avon a plastic container that has an ice pack in the lid. I use it hiking, etc., as it can be clipped to my bag. I've seen some different sizes in the stores as well, but unfortunately I don't recall which store off-hand. I do remember they had one for salads, with a spot for dressing.

I would still be interested :) but I don't know if I can get Avon stuff here????

You can also check in baby stores or stores that have baby/toddler sections. There are all kinds of bags and small coolers and things for kids that age (which is great because I still pack snacks for my two year old so she doesn't end up eating fast food if we're in the car all day).
