Default Anyone out there a Tweener like me?

I hate shopping right now. I am just a little too big for most XL sizes in department stores and all most too small for anything in the "big Girl" stores....sometimes I can find a 16 thats not too bad but not much of a selection....anyone else in limbo?

I feel for you. I was in limbo for a long time. You will get there though. It is rough buying clothes for that period of time though.

Yeah, I know your pain. I'm pretty close to your height/weight. It's hard to find size 16 among the little size 8 and size 10 clothes! Fortnately, my size 16 jeans are now too big for me! I'm looking forward to buying some new jeans next week in a smaller size.

Yep. Doin' that now. I had to buy some new clothes for the cruise and depending on where I went, a size 16 would be so tight then in another store I would swim in it.

I'm also 2 different sizes. If I get something to fit the chesticles, then it is wayyyy too big for my bottom. I had to find a 2 pc swimsuit in XL for the top and L for the bottom. The L is going to be too big soon so I bought the M as well.

Yes, I'm a tween size at the moment, especially with pants. Its not so bad with skirts as I have a relatively small waist compared to my hips so other than say a pencil skirts (which I wouldn't want anyway) the smaller size fits. More fitted shirts are also a problem as I have big boobs (DD cup). I'm just getting into a UK18 (US16) pants so hope to be out of the tween phase very soon.

LOL.....I def. have the top and bottom size difference going on.....even when I was at my smallest (senior year of h/s) I was a size 8 in pants but had to buy a size 12 prom dress to fit in the chest and have it taken in big time.

My entire adult life pre-loss was spent as a tweener. So frustrating! I always thought I didn't know how to shop, but it's pretty hard to do when nothing fits properly!

Shopaholic....I think I misunderstood this post the first time I read it also...I was thinking that Cherrygirl was a TEENAGER...not that the SIZE issue was just an inbetween good clothes size..lol

I really hate most of the clothes that are out there right now...seems that maternity looking tops are hot and I just can NOT do those. And Skinny jeans are in again and to me all they do is accentuate a large middle.....so I will stick with the boot cut or straight leg pants and my polo shirts or sweatshirts and be glad I dont have to dress up for work

I'm a perpetual tweener unless I am fit and at my ideal weight... those pounds creep on in the most difficult to fit places.  It's like a conspiracy!I also wear a DD and I have given up.  I'm signing up for sewing classes...Good luck!

Yeah, I'm kind of perplexed, to be honest. There's a huge, huge gap between size 20 and size 18.

When I wear size 20, I keep getting advised to stop wearing oversized clothes - and yet when I'm shopping, if I try to downsize to an 18, it's clearly much too small. It's like there's a complete size missing in between... I really don't understand it at all.

I haven't had this problem at all with the other sizes. Maybe it's because I've plateaued so long at this size that I'm redistributing weight or something and am now weirdly-shaped?

Anyway, for the moment I'll have to put up with the cries of 'Buy smaller clothes!', because much as I'd love to do just that, it's really just not happening yet!

Been a tweener for a bit now. 18's too big and the 16's too small.

StillTryin--I thought it was only me--maternity tops. What is going on here? I recently complained about that !

When the plus-sizes are too big but the regular sizes are too small.

I have been in this boat most of my adult life. I CANNOT WAIT to just be in the regular sizes.

I am so with you Aussiedaria! I am an 18/20 and nothing fits. The 20s are too big but the 18s are just still a bit tight and I get that side-pocket bugle thing going on or I'm scared I'm going to pop a button or something. I'm just using it to motivate me, I know another couple kg and those 18 will be comfy!
