Default 70's chicks! beauty nostalgia :)

What do you remember from the 70s, that you actually used?

Fragrances - Wind Song, Cache, Jean Nate (and some other lemon perfume that I can't recall) Love's Baby Soft, and Sweet Honesty by Avon.

Pale blue nail polish, and of course matching eye shadow.

Shampoo - Agree, Gee your hair smells terrific, and Suave Strawberry Essence.

Mud face mask.

Dippity-Doo

What am I missing?

OMG.....what a walk down memory lane!! I could not only see but SMELL each of those things you named LOL!! Those were the good old days where your choices were to smell like a lemon or a baby -- but they really were sexy scents! I'd love to get my hands on some now.

I also remembered a few more -

Hair - Body on Tap shampoo (supposedly had beer in it), and Adorn hair spray

Deodorant - Tickle (with the round colored ball tops)

Seabreeze astringent -- and it stung, but zapped the zits!

I'll think of more as the day goes on! THanks for starting this thead!

Ahhh.... those were the days....

Mr Bubble, Kissing Sticks, Sunshine Tuesday (not a product, but oh Lord how I loved her!)... HairNet Hairspray!

When I saw this thread I thought I had seen somewhere that a store offered a lot of these products, including Gee, your hair smells terrific, and I googled it and found it!

http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/

I can't make any claims to the authenticity of the stuff since I wasn't around back then, but has anyone ever bought stuff from these people?

You "youngsters" are too cute......LOL......make a woman feel old, wouldja??!!

Thanks for the link, too - I checked it out, and while the names are the same, the packaging is WAY different, and I wouldnt' risk paying $15 for a bottle of shampoo that may or may not be the same.....but fun to look and reminisce, anyway!

Noxzema? Is that from the '70's? I think these are from the '70's:

I remember Charlie!

Also, Enjoli with the cool song I still can sing today:

I can bring home the bacon,
Fry it up in a pan,
And never let you forget you're a man,
'Cause I'm a WOMAN, Enjoli!

SUCH memories. Gosh. I can't think of any to add, too long ago for me, but I am enjoying thinking about some of these things.

My daughter use Love's Baby Soft now and it always takes me back every time I smell it. I STILL love it. Charlie, on the other hand, I didn't like it so much. Oh well.

I liked the Charlie commercial, not the scent, either!

The only things I ever used (once or twice, really) were Noxzema and Love's Baby Soft, in the '80's.

Herbal Essence Shampoo

Faberge Organics Shampoo (remember Farrah and the feathered back style?)
Milk Plus Six Shampoo
Henna Shampoo

curling irons instead of those beastly spiked rollers

Mink hairspray (still my favorite)

Gauchos
Cowl necks
Long cardigan sweaters

lip gloss that tasted like cherry or bubble gum

liquid eye shadow

Warm up jackets with the double stripes (I loved my black one!)

Ooooh, la la, Sasson!

Disco type scarves

Oxy face wash and skin care

Midol, which was useless, haha. Did it work for anyone?

ear piercing! Hoop earings very big

Braids and pigtails in the early 70's with those long strings, I forget what they were called, they came in different colors.

omg!!!! They really were some good times, weren't they? I can remember my Gloria Vanderbilt jeans with the embroidered swan on the coin pocket. some other fashions were velour shirts, dolman sleeves, jordache jeans, skinny double belts, rabbit fur jackets, marshmallow shoes (they were the black suede shoes with the big white platform heel) god, they hurt badly, but that didnt stop me. oh, remember earth shoes, buffalo sandals and clogs.(oooh, my shoe obsession started a long time ago). "Memories are times that you borrow, to spend when you get to tomorrow" Paul Anka.

And don't forget the ratted, teased hair with lots of hair spray. Your hair wouldn't move in a hurricane!
