HELP! He hasn't seen me since I was thin.. what do I wear??

Hi ladies,

I'm a long time yo-yo dieter and a few years ago, I lost a good deal (60 pounds) of weight. Around my thin (but not my thinnEST) time, I met a gorgeous guy who I instantly had a thing for. We were friends for a while (we both had significant others), and later when we were both single we were intimately involved. Now I haven't seen him for a year, and we got back in contact, and he wants to go out for drinks Friday night!! I'm not a GREAT deal larger than last time I saw him (thank God), but I have definitely put on a few pounds and I don't know what to wear to camouflage it. Also, he has a girlfriend now so I definitely don't want to look slutty, just want to give off that "friend" vibe... but a friend who is not fat and ugly, haha. Thanks for the advice in advance!

Yes, Spanx are a godsend!! You can buy them at Nordstrom/Dillards/Filenes, or whatever fine retailer is near you. Look for them in the hosiery and the lingerie department.

There is shapewear as well. Shapewear easily takes of 10 pounds, sometimes more depending on your figure. I have a few pieces which I have around specifically for engagements such as yours. The girls working in the lingerie dept should be able to help you hide whichever spots are giving you the most trouble.

I also would say the rule of black would apply here. You don't need to look like death, dressed in black from head-to-toe, but a generally black oufit accented with bits of colorful jewelry, shoes and a scarf could be just the trick.

No worries, you are going to look beautiful!!! :-)

What's your body shape looking like? There are certain suggestions of things you could wear that'll camouflage certain things that you don't like. You can google your body shape and see what to wear for it.

Do you know what he looks like now? Maybe he has put on a few and is worried about what *you* will think! LOL
