Is this not the neatest dress?

Lydia Sylvestry's Infinite Dress, the dress you can wear 100 different ways. Actually there's a couple of brand names now including Butter by Nadia, one by American Apparel, Rachel Pally's Mexico dress, and a version by VS.

I think it's great for adapting to weight changes. I bought it for those events I need to find a dress for in a pinch and people will never know it's the same dress  And I love that there's a style that covers the upper arms. It's a bit $$$ but I bought one off of ebay for $20! :carrot: For the crafty people here, there's a link below for a do it yourself version :)

That's the same dress in all of those pictures? That's so cool! I'd get one if the skirt part of the dress was in a different style..

Wow, that's still around? It was big in the 70s.

I like things like that. I have 2 kariza dresses that are in 2 different Indian prints each and you can tie them all different ways. Too bad I can only figure out 3 ways! :P That dress looks a bit more adaptable though, mine don't really have any styles that cover upper arms.

Thanks for the link to the instructions. I love to sew, but our apartment is insanely tiny, and I hate working with patterns anyway, so I've been on a "pattern-free" sewing kick. Several years ago I bought the book "Pattern-free fashions," and went searching on amazon.com and found about half a dozen more no-pattern sewing books I want to buy or order through the library.

I never thought to look for websites, so the search is on!

thank you!
I went to the links you sent, then to ebay, and there was one there which I bought! I'm a little bit unsure because it was a medium but hey - that is what I aspire to. Medium.
thanks again!!

I WANT ONE!!!! I will have to keep checking ebay, that is so AWSOME!
If that MEDIUM doesnt fit you I will take it off your hands! (I would pay you of course)

I saw this dress, or something like it on an infomercial one night, years ago, and I could never remember the name of the product. I tried asking around, to see if anyone else had heard of it, and from the responses I got you'd have thought I was crazy. I guess I didn't imagine it afterall. I'll have to try making my own sometime soon.

I want a seamstress to make that for me NOW. :D
