Hi everyone! Lily, I'm glad your leg is coming along.
Ladies ... I'm so tired! I think I've worked 8 of the last 10 days and switched back and forth between evenings and day shift. I'm sooo looking forward to having a day off tomorrow. I may not even do any reno type work. I have a chiropractors appt at one and I think I'll have a nap after that. Imagine ... I'm on my way to bed and already planning a nap for tomorrow :)
I tried to fiddle up a four day weekend but can't find anyone to work for me. We are so short of staff. Sigh ...

lilybelle 09-28-2006 09:30 AM

Susan, sorry to hear you are so tired. Try to take it easy and get some rest. I sure remember how draining it is to switch shifts.

I got my new brace and it fits inside my shoe and comes up to just below my knee. I am going shoe shopping this evening as it makes my shoe a little too tight and I don't want to get blisters. My toes are wiggling a little more this morning and I can see the improvement. I am on the mend.

Praise the Lord, Lily.........sure seems to take a long time sometimes, doesn't it? I hope you can keep away from those packages of meat now.

lilybelle 09-28-2006 11:26 AM

carol, thanks. I'll try to be careful and not hurt myself any more. I am going to start trying to walk 5 min's at a time again as soon as I get more shoes that will fit comfortable with this brace tonite. I'll eventually be back to walking a lot, I know I can do it. Exercise makes my body feel good and I look forward to doing it a lot more.

I got the go ahead from my chiropractor to get my weights back out! I'm anxious to see what difference it makes now that my shoulders (upper back) are looser. But first .... the nap!

Hey maintainers! I'm kind of new to maintaining. I still want to lose 12 pounds, but I'm fine with where I am and have really been just trying to maintain for last few months.

Anyway, I have a question that's kinda bugging me since I just did it. If you happen to skip a meal, like breakfast because you slept in, do you make up for by eating a bigger lunch? I just did. Usually, after lunch and with breakfast, my calorie intake is at about 630 - 700. Well, I skipped breakfast today because I slept in and when I ate lunch, I ate 605 calories. It was all good, low-fat stuff, but I still can't help but feel a little nagging.. something in my head telling me to feel guilty. I guess it is because I ate much more than I usually would at one time, but it's still under what I would've been at this point had I eaten breakfast. What do you girls think?

lilybelle 09-28-2006 01:58 PM

Diem, personally I wouldn't feel guilty about this. You were probably hungrier than usual with not having breakfast. I would think if the rest of your day goes as per usual plan that nothing will come of it. I do the same sometimes, sleep in or am too busy for breakfast and still keep my cals and carbs for the day in the appropriate range. It hasn't affected my weight loss or maintenance.

Welcome, Diem! :welcome3: I'm with Lily ... I only worry about how it all looks at the end of the day. Stuff happens, and we have to be flexible. :)

Stick around and tell us some more about you!

Reg4242 09-28-2006 02:59 PM

Hi All:
Welcome Diem. Meg is right stuff happens and adapting our plans is what makes maintence work. Good Luck.

Susan get some rest.
Glad your doing better lilly stay out of the freezer is right.

Good day

lilybelle 09-28-2006 11:02 PM

Reg, I still blame it on my son's XGF, she's the one that haphazardly put away the groceries that day. LOL.

Hi Maintainers!

Lily - great news about the foot, keep it up!

SusanB - i hope you are feeling less tired!

I am doing gardening cardio..my arms feel like i did a great UBWO, but i have been mowing my lawn foe 1 hour (did nort mow since may)

Thanks everyone, I am feeling good. With the new brace and a bigger pr. of shoes, I look like I'm walking "almost normal" again. Went shopping last night and made it just fine. Not near as tiring as lugging the big Luna boot around.

Sunday, we are going to my MIL's to do a day of yard work for her. She has been ill and very weak and needs some help. She had a lg. tree to get struck by lightening and needs it cut up and hauled off and her yard mowed and weeded. DH will be off work and is going with me.

carolr3639 09-29-2006 02:49 PM

Is that the MIL that lost weight?

lilybelle 09-29-2006 07:22 PM

carol, yes. She has lost 17.5 lb. in the last 6 weeks. Her cardiologist ran a lot of tests. He thinks the lipitor was making her sick, this sounded strange to me since she has been taking it for 5 yrs. and just now having a problem. She has been without it for a month now and isn't feeling any better. I, personally think her 2 pack a day cigarette habit may be more likely the problem. She is very shaky and I worry she may be exhibiting some COPD. She vehemently denies smoking might be the problem. Plus, the chronic cough is a clue to me.

Hi maintainers,

Lilybelle, i sure hope YOU will not be cutting down a tree and hauling it out of the yard with that foot ?? Take care,

rabbit
