Congratulations Ali! What a pretty name! I say it in my head with a bit of a french accent :)
The old mama nurse says "Clean eats, lots of fluids, moderate exercise and rest when you can".

Congratulations Ali! :balloons: And I'll echo the lovely name (my niece is Judy; a close friend Genevieve, so I'm prejudiced :) ).

Ali! Congrats on baby G. I'll second (or is it third) the beautiful name. Looking forward to some pics after you get some rest!

Good morning! It's going to be another 90 degree day here, but we're lucky compared to some parts of the country - at least we don't have power outages. My herb garden is wilting so I need to water before the sun gets too hot.

I got in a cooking mood yesterday and bought all the ingredients for chili, black-bean chicken chili, and ratatoille (sp?) which means that today will be a cooking day. But it's so great to have meals in the freezer all ready to go!

It's been a little over six months since my shoulder surgery and I'm happy to report that my strength is back to 90+% of what it was pre-injury. :strong: My doctor had warned me this might take a year or more, so it's good to prove him wrong. The scale isn't moving (rats!) but my body's definitely changing now that I can lift heavy and do intense cardio again. I'll tell you, once you hit that dread 5-0, the ONLY thing that's gonna keep you from falling right to pieces is exercise and lots of it!

Hope you're all doing well and keeping cool.

Meg - glad to hear about the shoulder. Well done on proving the docs wrong ;)

Go Meg!!! :)

Don't you just want to make a big sign that says "Fit people heal faster"!

Meg 07-26-2006 09:18 AM

 Maybe we need T shirts?

srmb60 07-26-2006 09:41 AM

I've been to 3FC
I've lost the weight
I bought the t-shirt

Meg 07-26-2006 09:44 AM

You know, we really DO need 3FC T-shirts. :)

Speaking of Tshirts, I've seriously been thinking about getting one made for the gym with these lyrics on the back:

"For those of you who want to know what we're all about ...
This is:
10% luck
20% skill
15% concentrated power of will
5% pleasure
50% pain
And a 100% reason to remember the name."

From 'Remember The Name' by Fort Minor. It's my favorite weightlifting song on my iPod. :D

I like that one too - so does a certain blogger I read (www.skwigg.com)

I've not heard the song - I'm going to go look it out right now!
