Thanks! Thanks also to Meg , who seems to be a weight maintenance/computer genius. She posted my photos for me.

WOW!! You have worked so hard and it has paid off! My favorite part is that you are on (what is that?) a dirtbike, living life, being active! Hooray for you!!!

Hi Midwife--

I was on a mountain bike, in the end of a triathlon. I do tons of sports though... Mostly I love to mountain bike. Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Hi Ho!!

Whoooeeee ... thank goodness it's Thursday. The weekend's in sight!

I took an amazing water aerobics class last night; first time I've had this instructor and she was a revelation. How hard was it? Well, after a year's worth of classes, I couldn't finish hers; I lasted 45 of 60 minutes. She focused on arms last night, and I quit when I couldn't lift mine one more time. I thought I was going to be in major pain this morning, but you know what? I feel terrific. I can hardly wait until next week. I hope she teaches again. The Y shifts to a summer schedule from June through August, which means lots of rotating teachers and classes. As a morning person, I miss my usual 6 a.m. classes, but I must say this teacher was awesome!

I'm about to hit the road again, this time an overnight to our campus in the northern part of the state. Fortunately, I can mix business with pleasure ... after the meeting, I'm having dinner with one of our vice chancellors who's a major bicyclist. As a cyclist-wannabe, I have a lot to learn and she's offered to take me to a big bike shop and show me different models. How cool is that! If you think weight rooms are testosterone-saturated, you should see bike shops and bike magazines. Hardly a woman in sight.

Cheers y'all.

Isn't it July yet??!!?? This is the first month this year that is really dragging. I STILL have the last dregs of this #$%& cold.

I need all you smart ladies to go down to my BBQ thread and give me some ideas. I have no idea what to expect at the in laws' and want some tips for dealing with lots of different situations, just to be prepared. They do not have any weight issues in the family and just don't understand why it is something I worry about--I lost it right? game over, eat! Sigh.

Robin, have fun at the bike shop! I've never noticed the testosterone thing with the bike stuff--we've got a huge number of women cyclists and triathletes here in Tucson and most of the shops recognize that. There are more men to be sure, but the ratio is way better than say engineering or physics (my disciplines) so I'd probably never notice. Triathlon in particular is very woman-friendly and the women pros get as much coverage as the men in the press; reminds me of tennis in that respect--one of the reasons I like it. Cycling as a sport is more like all the rest, have to look for the women. Oh, I'm on the verge of getting started...I'll write my novel later.

I can't tell you how much fun the bike shop was! It was a corporate store for one of the big lines, and they had *everything.* My gal pal spent more than an hour explaining shifting, bike geometry (who knew bikes had geometry), gears, brakes and saddles. A really helpful bike guy pulled out model after model, so I could see them and sit on them. I loved it. Oh oh, I've been bitten by the bug.

Looks like I'm going to have to work much of the weekend, but I hope to find some pool time. What's anyone else doing?

Hi maintainers,

After juggling 5 balls I'm now back to juggling 3 balls. the funny thing is i am still all hyped up and I find it difficult to relax. I have a tendency to go to food for comfort, and i really have to convince myself that yes, i can do this and no, i do not need xxx comfort food.

Tomorrow I go shopping for clothes with DD, my 2 sisters & 1 niece. DD needs some new stuff as she will enter secondary school next august. I still find it hard to imagine. DS had his last exams today. I'll try to see the principal of 2nd grade next week, to discuss what stream he will be in next year. He has worked very hard in these last weeks, and showed progress, so I hope school will take the ciorcumstances into account and put him into the class that he wants.

I am tired, I'll try to get some rest now, and some meditation.

have a great day,
rabbit

Weekend. Hmmm. Well, I think I'm going to skip the 5:15 a.m. bike ride my tri group has planned, but will probably take the dogs for a walk, then DD and I go to the pool, back to my place for dinner with some friends and out to the Desert Museum for the evening. Then Sunday I'm running with the baby jogger at 6 a.m., meeting another mommy, grocery shop, laundry, finances, play with baby, play with dogs, go to my swim workout, come back, make dinner, feed baby and then pass out. If there's time, I need to clean the oven, steam clean a carpet, go through the closet and box up a bunch of maternity/post-maternity stuff, get a new cell phone plan, and harass DH until he picks up from the tree trimming he did.

I think I'm overscheduling...but since I eat when I'm bored, I'm probably safe this weekend.

Hi everyone! I am back after a prolonged absence due to moving, family visits, and flying to Seattle for a friend's wedding. Now we are settled in Indiana and I start work this Friday.

I have to admit that all the moving craziness has taken a toll on my maintenance. Finding time to workout has been tough and having my family over means lots of eating out. That and my family finally met my fiance's family, which meant lots more eating. And of course going out of town for a friend's wedding was also full of eating. Ugh! Finally we are back on track now that the craziness is over. My scale is showing me at the top of my maintenance range, but I think it's broken so that's not too reliable. The lack of exercise is taking its toll on my waistline even if my weight numerically hasn't gone up too much, because my pants are definitely tighter than they should be.

I think I am going to have to learn to work out in the evenings. I am really a morning person, and I love working out first thing, but now that my fiance and I are going to no longer be working from home, I will need to be at the office at 8am. That means getting up at 6:00 no longer leaves time to work out, and I don't think I will be able to go to bed at 9 and wake up at 5 (no tivo here, I don't want to miss out on my favorite TV shows!). Getting my 8 hours is very important so I can't just sleep one less hour. So, I guess I will have to start working out when I get home from work. Hopefully after I do it for a while it will become a habit (usually all I want at the end of the day is to eat dinner and zone out on the couch).

The plus side is that my new apartment complex has a gym, and there is a bike path about a mile away. And our new cable service carries FitTV (I spent two hours this morning with TV workouts).

Anyway, my plan is to spend my last few days of freedom before I start work exercising a lot, and I will be counting calories again until my pants fit right.

Does anyone have any exciting 4th of July plans?
