It's been even harder for my dh to learn that it's ok to throw away food. With our three young kids, after a particularly bad meal, I've joked that I should save the middle step and just thow the cooked food directly in the garbage rather then letting them spread it all across the table and floor too. Dh hated throwing their leftovers away, and would often eat them, even if he wasn't hungry and even if he didn't particularly like the food. He's slowly getting over it.

But I have trouble turning down a good deal at the grocery store. And as a result currently have more cans of sweetened condensed milk and bags of peanut butter chips than I need for my family's baking purposes. I'm going to donate a couple of each to a Christmas hamper campaign on Tuesday.
