I'm very glad you both are staying Bill and Alice. There are very few people who know what weight maintenance is, never mind being able to sustain a weight loss for a significant amount of time.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all the folks who post on the Maintainers' Thread - and all that drop by to read here.
ETA: And, Dagmar, Super Congrats to your Canadian Space Agency who, along with NASA and the European Space Agency, just got the Webb Telescope launched. I know that there are still a million miles to be traveled, a zillion steps that have to be taken flawlessly, and six months before the first pictures for science but, it's such an exciting start.

Getting ready for the New Year. Put a hold on this ebook at the Toronto public library to kickstart my COVID poundage loss.

Got all the holiday food out of the house - eaten or thrown away . I am not getting on a scale until the end of the month - too disheartening. At the end of the month I'm determined to have :.

Happy New Year everybody.
Dagmar, Good luck with delving into Cognitive Behavior (Therapy) for help with weight management. I'm a big fan; the Beck Forum has been reading Dr. Judith Beck's three books for some time now. Her father, Dr. Aaron T. Beck, founder of CBT, just died at the age of 100. Have no idea if that ripe age was due using his own therapy ideas or not.
Feel free to look in the Beck Forum to watch some active half-dozen of us wallow about trying to be sane with this eating plan and exercise plan stuff.

It's been a week since my knee replacement surgery. I'm doing okay, although my leg gets a bit sore by bedtime. The first week was hard because I had to make myself stay on the couch. The physical therapist paid a visit on Thursday and said everything looks good. I have exercises to regain range of motion and I can do a little more walking. The zip line will come out in a few more days. I don't see the surgeon again until the end of the month. I have swelling from the surgery, so I'm just staying off the scale. My calories are down, hopefully enough to avoid weight gain. I'll just wait and see!
Happy Knee Year!!

WOW! Sounds like you're recovering really well from what I've heard can be a really big surgery. Hope that trend continues Alice and that you will be back to your hiking sometime fairly soon.

I have a vague memory of reading one of Judith Beck's books a long time ago. I will look in to the forum - thanks Bill!

Just bought 2 of Judith Beck's books after looking at a cognitive behaviour workbook online. I find I don't retain anything I read online and I want to be able to work with the physical books - ie mark pertinent passages and chapters, write in the margins, etc. etc. After I'm done reading the first book I will definitely check out the forum here.
