Maintainers Weekly Chat July 25 - July 31

Yikes - I'm getting worse at forgetting that it's Monday. Seems like it's a desire to keep the weekend in place.

The neighbors knocked on our door. "Come see the turkeys in our yard!" It was so. An adult pair and two juveniles were wandering about. Turkeys are everywhere these days. Don't know what to do other than to hope they wander somewhere else.

Are the turkeys as colorful as Hawaii's chickens, Bill? Are they as much of a nuisance?

Oh, the weather today! The monsoonal flow from the Gulf of Mexico is in the valley making it more humid than usual and it's just icky outside. I feel bad for our employees who have to work out in it.

I watched the sky flash for about 10 minutes this morning as I drank my coffee on the front porch. Both animals stayed inside - afraid of this strange stuff. Then the torrential much-needed rain started and they ran for the upstairs.

Kind of nice that it's grey and gloomy. I have a bunch of errands to still run before we can go away and this kind of weather makes it easier.

Hot, sticky, humid day here, too. Yick.

We tend to have tons of wild turkey near where we live. We joke that they always seem to disappear before thanksgiving.

My trip is pretty much over. Dh left to work this morning and I'm on my own.... Trying not to get nervous about figuring out the trains, airport, etc by myself.

Plan on going to the hotel gym, getting some lunch nearby and then heading to the train station for the airport.

Then I will time travel! My flight leaves 5:30 pm Thursday and arrives 10:40 am Thursday!

Pretty sure I'm up at least 5 pounds but not sure.
My back hasn't been happy here so I'm hoping getting back to my routines... My bed, yoga, chiropractor, etc will help.

Michelle I hear you about the routines. We are on vacation/research trip in a smaller Ontario city and I'm trying to find a breakfast place with something under 350 cals. I'm typing on my laptop in the dark, sitting on the floor, having made myself a coffee in the bathroom.

This would have been much simpler and less time-consuming at home where I wouldn't have light-sensitive hubby sleeping 3 feet away.

I CAN do this for 5 days. :tantrum: No, really I can. :lol3:

When I'm travelling, I tend to pick the places with nutrition facts for meals. And that usually means chains rather than the small places. Not sure what's in Canada, but I can get a decent breakfast at Denny's, McDonald's and Starbucks for not many calories. IHOP may have added some light options too.Oatmeal and fruit is always an option at hotel breakfast buffets. It's the part about resisting all the other stuff sitting out next to the oatmeal that is hard.
