So, what defines maintenance?

i was around 170 throughout last Summer/Fall, then took my neighbors scale around i think right after Christmas or into the new year and found i was around 160 so i had slowly lost 10 lbs. Since then i have additionally lost around 4 lbs, i think i'm around 156 give or take. I really don't plan on losing anymore but am not going to fret if i lose a couple more, although i probably won't.

i "officially" wanted to maintain around 160 (and even 170!) but have found i like the few extra pounds off. So..even though i slowly lost those 4 lbs over the last few months, that isn't maintenance? Just wondering as i am wondering if/when my body will ever "redistribute" the weight or fat as time goes on or i'll have to get filler in those terribly emerging marionette lines, LOL (UGHHHH). if this all makes sense??

OK< I am confused, what is your question. Are you wondering if you are in maintenance ? The answer is ,yes. If you have lost weight and kept it off you are a maintainer.

yep, sorry i know it was kind of confusing, i guess i was wondering if i was in maintenance since January even though i've still slowly lost a few pounds, kind of like you're not officially in menopause until a full year after your cycle stops, something along those lines.

You are in maintenance. It is ok to lose a few pounds after reaching goal and maintaining your loss.

I agree with Bargoo- you are in maintenance if you are no longer deliberately going lower. All maintainers fluctuate a bit (some of us more than others) - no one keeps the same weight every day/week. OTOH, if you are giving lip service to staying 160 but are secretly hoping for 150 (or whatever) and therefore eating at a deficit, then you've set a new goal and are still in weight loss mode.
